Broncos 31 Raiders 21 With their all pro running back on IR and their # 1 WR on the mend with a torn labrum, the Broncos have somehow managed to put together a 3 game winning streak. They now find themselves still not quite out of the playoff picture and were in definite need of a win vs the division rival Raiders in week 16. Denver came out playing well early on both sides of the ball. The defense kept L.A scoreless in the 1st qrtr while the offense scored a TD on the legs of HB Darrayl Longino who took it in 18yds for 6. In the 2nd qrtr the Raiders would respond with 2 straight TD’s. One was a 13yd pass to WR Mike Williams and the other was a goaline run by FB Marcel Reece to go up 7–14. Denver QB Brock Osweiler would answer, leading his team down the field and capping it off with a 14yd TD pass to Hakeem Nicks to tie the game at 14. A Von Miller INT would give the Broncos the ball back and they squeezed out a FG to end the half. (17-14) In the 3rd quarter, Denver would move the ball down the field and extend on their lead on a Montee Ball 3yd TD run. (24–14). In the 4th, Raiders reduced the lead to 3 when Terell Pryor found WR Mike Thomas for the 13yd TD pass. (24-21) L.A gets the ball back and are beginning to get their drive going when CB Dominique Rodgers Cromartie picks off Pryor’s pass and takes it back 52yds for 6. (31-21) The Cromartie INT clearly was the game breaker and it earned him player of the game honors. Broncos win a hard fought one against a tough new owner to stay alive in the playoff race. To have a chance they will have to win their 5th straight game and on the road vs another divisional foe, the Chargers. Good game Glen Cieske. Welcome to the league!
