Chargers 17 Broncos 27 It seemed that the Broncos' season was all but over 5 weeks ago. However, they managed to put together a series of wins and with some help from the Chiefs, found themselves back in the hunt and with a chance to make the playoffs, but they would have to beat the Chargers first. Denver didn't come out firing on all cylinders in the 1st quarter, but got it going in the 2nd where they scored 17 unanswered points. Matt Prater got them on the scoreboard with a 41yarder, then RB Montee Ball ran it in for a 4yd TD, and Darrayl Longino put the ball in the endzone from the goaline. Since all pro RB Ronnie Hillman has been out with a ruptured disk (IR) it's been a running back by committee approach with Longino getting the official start. This group has been playing well and helped to give the team balance minus their top stars. This was Longino's best game as he continued to play well in the second half, breaking a 52yarder for a TD in the 3rd quarter. He ended up with 123yds and 2 TD's in this one. The defense was solid, holding the Chargers to a FG for most of the game until the 4th when they went into cover 4 mode. Denver never relinquished their lead after going up by 14 in the 2nd quarter and sealed the win and the division in week 17. Running game and defense won this one. QB Brock Osweiler attempted 9 passes total and threw no TD's or INT's (more importantly). Broncos didn't commit any turnovers either, but they were able to force two INT's which were key. Broncos didn't expect to be relevant at this part of the season so no matter what the outcome of the playoffs, they're taking a let's just have fun and see whatever happens approach. They will need to keep that mindset when they face the high powered (13-3) Miami Dolphins in the wildard round. Good game KNICKSFAN_84!
