In order to receive the full effect of this preview, listen to the following video while reading this. In the words of Biggie, "Is Brooklyn in the house?/ without a doubt!" The birthplace of Biggie, Jay-Z, Mike Tyson, and Michael Jordan is now home to the Nets. The borough of Brooklyn has been bustling with anticipation since the announcement of the move, and this year they finally get to call the Nets their own. Luckily for them, management has made moves in an effort to make them a contender. If the Nets can stay healthy, Brooklyn may see the playoffs in their first year. The Nets are led by PG Deron Williams. Williams is one of the best PG's in the game, but he would like to prove this year that he is THE best in the game. There's nothing Williams can't do on the court, and he is looking to have a big season. The big off season addition for Brooklyn was SG Joe Johnson. Johnson is a big time scorer who received the brunt of the blame for Atlanta's disappointing playoff experiences. Johnson should flourish playing along side Williams. The Nets frontline is led by two scrappy rebounders in SF Gerald Wallace and PF Kris Humphries. While they were unable to acquire C Dwight Howard, the Nets believe Brook Lopez can be an All-Star caliber C for years to come. The bench is led by SG Marshon Brooks. Brooks is a deadly shooter, and Brooklyn hopes he can be their version of Rickey Pierce or Vinnie Johnson. PF Andre Blatche comes over from Washington. After showing great potential his first few seasons in the league, Blatche could not live up to the expectations set for him. A change of scenery may do him some good. The most intriguing player on the bench is rookie PG Tyshawn Taylor out of Kansas. The rookie is already one of the quickest players in the league, and has ankle breaking handles. It will be interesting to see how he develops. Brooklyn is looking like a tough team this year. It will be a major disappointment if they don't make the playoffs. They have scorers, shooters, rebounders, a post game, and a decent bench. Now if the players can keep their eyes off of Beyonce when she sits courtside, Brooklyn may be ready to make noise this season.
