Ohio State 35, Penn State 28

Ohio State gets by Nittany Lions

Led by another spotless performance from quarterback Terrelle Pryor, Ohio State downs Penn State 35-28 in Happy Valley. The Buckeyes built an early 28-7 lead before hanging on to get the big road win. The win moves the Bucks to 4-0 in the Big Ten, tied for lead with Michigan State, who does not play Ohio State this season. The 14th ranked Lions dropped to 5-3.

Pryor completed 15-of-17 passes for 275 yards and has yet to throw a pick this season. Pryor threw for one score and ran for another, a 24 yard jaunt in the second quarter when Ohio State took control of the game. Penn State Heisman candidate Evan Royster was brilliant, gaining over 200 yards of total offense. Despite being hobbled with an injury most of the contest, Royster scored three touchdowns and ran for 154 yards on 22 carries against the normally stout Buckeye defense.

Evan Royster breaks through the line on fourth and two for an early 7-0 Penn State lead

With Penn State threatening in the second quarter, OSU defender Brian Rolle picks off a Kevin Newsome pass.

Maybe the key play of the game: with Buckeyes facing 3rd and three near the end of the first half, Pryor connects with David Posey to get the ball to the Penn State one. Two plays later Ohio State goes up 21-7.
