Both the Falcons and Bucs went into this Week 3 divisional matchup undefeated with the winner claiming sole possession of 1st place in the NFC South.

Falcons QB Matt Ryan was lighting up the QSF in the air in this early season as he was averaging 344yds per game passing with a 126.5 QBR and 7 passing TDs. The Bucs knew this going into the game and made stopping Ryan and the Falcons passing attack the main focus of the gameplan and that gameplan payed off. The BUcs defense was able to force Matt Ryan into 4 Interceptions, 3 of which were hauled in by third year CB Jonathan Banks, this biggest of which happened in the endzone as the Falcons were threatening to score.
Matt Ryan would not be completely shutdown as he was able to overcome the early Ints. and keep his team in the lead for most of the game.

Eventhough being behind one score for most of the game the Bucs kept fighting with the belief that hard play would payoff in crunch time and they were correct. The Bucs offense was able to take the lead in the 4th qtr. when Bucs QB Mike Glennon found TE Ryan Otten in the endzone for the score. Glennon would end the day with an unimpressive 178yds passing but he made those attempts count as he totaled 3 TDs on the day.

With the Bucs leading 24-21 late in the 4th, the Falcons offense was poised to complete a drive to tie the game or even take the lead but that all ended when newly acquired CB Demetrius McCray would haul in Matt Ryan's 4th Int. and seal the game for the Bucs.

GG and good luck rest of the year. Looking forward to the rematch.
