Week 1 is always an exciting time across the league. Everyone starts with a clean slate, and everyone has a chance to win the Superbowl. After week 1, you're either still a Superbowl contender, or fighting for the number 1 overall draft pick. At least that's what guys over at ESPN would lead you to believe. Here in 12th Man, week 1 simply is week 1. You're either still undefeated, or still winless afterwards. But here week 1 is nothing more than week 1, and we all know there is still 15 more weeks to improve. With that, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would start their 2013 campaign hosting an unfamiliar foe in the Tennessee Titans (Eazy E).

This game would start terribly for the Bucs. However QB Josh Freeman and Coach Lazaroe envisioned this year starting, it happened completely opposite. On their opening drive, Freeman would look to pass early and he didn't look good in doing so. In fact, in just his third attempt, Titan corner Altteraun Verner would intercept a pass over the middle and take it 40 yards to the house. 7-0 Titans. Unfortuantely for Freeman, that would not be the end of such misfortune. On his very next drive, Freeman would be picked again. This time by Tommie Campbell. That would lead to what appeared to be an effortless drive which was led by RB Chris Johnson, who would eventually score. Titans would go up early 14-0. Freeman would finally get things going when on his third drive he hooked up with TE Luke Stocker from about 35 yards out and a score. 14-7 Titans. It was at this point when the new look Buc defense would completely take over. First it came when DB Eric Wright would have a pick 6 of his own and tie this game up at 14 after being down an early 14 point hole. On the Titans next drive, RB Chris Johnson would be stood up near the sideline by DE Dequan Bowers and newly acquired FS Dashon Goldson would make him pay. A huge hit by Goldson jarred the ball loose and LB Lavonte David would fall on it. This would lead to a field goal by the Bucs and their first lead of 2013. 17-14 Bucs. The Buccaneer defense would never look back. Brent Grimes would add a pick before the half, and that would lead to a TD reception by Vincent Jackson. Bucs would go up 24-14. In the second half it was more Bucs defense. Mason Foster, Lavonte David, and Andrew Smith (1st round pick) would all add interceptions of their own. The Titans were never able to get things going and get back into this ball game as the Bucs would go on to get their first win of the season, 34-21.

Next Up: The Bucs will travel to Indianapolis to take on another unfamiliar foe in the Colts (CHUNKNESS). That one should be a pretty good matchup between two coaches playing with new ball clubs. The Texans will travel to Jacksonville and matchup with the Jags (CPU).

    Player of the Game:

Bucs Defense - 6 Forced Turnovers (1 Fumble, 5 Interceptions), 1 TD, (Held Chris Johnson to only 33 yards)
