On a rainy day in Strakville the Spartans found a way to fumble the game away late in the fourth quarter to the Bulldogs for the second straight year.

The game started off with each team scoring on their opening drive. Each team also got a TD in the second quarter, but Miss. St found a way to get a FG at the end of the first half. Some may even say that time would have expired if it weren't for a home town clock operator. This is something Sparty fans are all too familar with and have no room to complain. We all remember the 2001 game against Michigan when Spartan Bob stopped the clock early to give State another play.... but I digress.

In the 3rd quarter Mississippi State scored quickly on their first drive. The Spartans followed with a score late in the 3rd and then another one early in the 4th after a 3 and out. This gave the Spartans 4 point lead. After another stop by Michigan State the Spartans were on the move until Cunningham fumbled to give the ball back to the Bulldogs. Mississippi State scored twice in a row after to go up 10.

    The game ended
    Mississippi State 38
    Sparty 28

    MVP of the Game

    Tyler Russell 17-23 234 yds 3 TD 0 Int

Next week the #10 Mississippi State Bulldogs, AKA National Champs, play #8 Auburn
