BYU announced today during a press conference that Alex Kuresa will be starting against SMU in Week 14 unless Tanner Mangum is behind in the Heisman Race. "We don't want Mangum to get hurt, but we also don't to take something like this away from him." Coach Lambdin says it'll be more of a game time decision but it's currently 75/25 that Kuresa will start. Ross Apo and Mitch Mathews also may sit but that is more of a coin flip than the Mangum situation.

Sitting a guy to win a Heisman is just as bad as stat padding to win one.

Sitting a guy so he doesn't get injured so i can win the Big XII seems better IMO.

Plus Alex Kuresa is equally as good (as Jello saw twice last year).

And can you name 1 single NCAA team that has sat a star player out a game to avoid injury?

Pussy. That is so unrealistic. Colleges play their starters no matter what unless the dude is hurt. even vs FBS schools

Maybe it'll all backfire and he loses to SMU, loses in the Big12 championship, loses his bowl game, and then loses a prestige star.

Seems silly when rankings matter in college so I hope the scenario above happens.

I don't see how it's unrealistic when my QB got injured last season and has been getting injured for spurts all year. I need him to win the Big XII.

There is a chance could get hurt at anytime. You never think like that oh because he could get hurt I'm not gunna play him. That's stupid.

Get the ball out if his hand which you can mAnage. Or get up big quick and take him out.

Sitting him for the rest of the regular season to prevent injury sounds legit to me. I lost both my starting HB(99) and starting QB(85) in the first 3 plays of my week 8 game, neither due to big hits or fatigue. If I had my division locked up and was only playing CPU opponents I'd probably do the same.

And Jello, this has nothing to do with the "real" NCAA. In the real NCAA you don't see the same number of QB and HB injuries as you do in the game. I don't think I've gone an entire season with any team without an injury to my starting HB or QB. As a matter of fact, in OTP I was down to using my 4th and 5th string HBs(FB and backup ATH QB) as HBs because my first 3 HBs were all hurt at some point. And no, that isn't due to over-use or fatigue, it's just RNG.

Actually this is where I differ in opinion. You wouldn't believe the crazy amount of injuries. Just in this game players don't have the option to attempt to play through the injuries unlike real life.

If you don't start him I will boot your fucking ass, I'll say what you do. You are afraid because you have historically had bad games vs jello1717. Sitting your STAR QB to win the fucking Heisman is bull shit.

How does setting out a player get them the Heisman?

    I don't understand that logic I guess.

His stats are ridiculous for starters

    2) IF he does get injured he automatically loses the Heisman
