Must Not Be The Golden Toe

This Game was advertised as a Offensive show, but ended up as a defensive slugfest. Ohio St dissapointed this year, the goal was a BCS game of Natl Championship...and the buckeyes got neither as they got a 3rd place finish and a trip to the Capital One bowl at 9-3. The Auburn tigers who the year before went 5-7 were just looking to improve, and they did that by overachieving alot with the help of some new stars and a few Seniors, 10-3 and SEC runner up.

    1st QTR
On a 6 play drive, and alot of big plays the Buckeyes ended it with a 13 pass from Pryor to TE Stoneburner who would be up ended but still score the first points of the game. 7-0 Ohio State.

The Tigers would Answer later on with Freshman RB McCalebb stiff arming his way into the endzone. 7-7

    2nd QTR
This was a slow quarter as both defenses settled in and as time ran out, the Buckeyes put together a drive to get within field goal range. Kicker Pettrey would have an intresting game, and missing his first kick and many others...more on that later but at this pioint he gives the Buckeyes a 10-7 halftime lead from 43 yards out.

    3rd QTR
Pettrey would get lucky on this one as his quick bangs off the upright and in to Give the Buckeyes a 13-7 lead.

With a little urgency the Tigers put together a scoring drive with McCalebb running 3 Yards untouched giving the Tigers thier first lead of the Game.

    4th QTR
With 52 secs left in the game and Buckeyes doing everything right to get to this point all Pettrey would have to do is kick a 23 Yard Fg to win the game, he would kick it but miss..and the Auburn Tigers would hold on to win the Capital One Bowl. Coach Chizik and AD King should be proud of this season this is a big turn around, but they now have thier eyes turned to recruiting...this program has along way to go to get back to Respectablity.
