Coach Sibellius announced today that Arizona will be switching over to a 4-3 defense. "With our current personnel, this is really a no-brainer. We have great depth at our defensive line and with this move we can get our best players on the field to make plays." Asked about the blowout loss last week against Seattle and his thoughts on the season thus far, Coach S said " Last week's game in Seattle was a tough loss for this team. We underestimated their abilities and made some mistakes that they were able to capitalize on. Nobody wants to be shut out but this was a wake up call for our team. Right now we have the number one passing defense in the league but we're still giving up almost 100 YPG on the ground and an average of 21 points per game. On the defensive side, we need to close the gaps and shut down the run game." "Offensively we need our lineman to hold their blocks and give Beanie and Tim a chance to make something happen. The only reason JaMarcus is leading the team in rushing right now is because our protection is breaking down and he's having to scramble to make something happen. If we can start running the ball, the rest of our offense should fall into place." The 4-3 defensive front of the Cardinals will consist of big 300+ pounders Dan Williams and former DE Alan Branch. Calais Campbell and Darnell Dockett will switch places at DE with Dockett now at LE and Campbell at RE. Veteran linebacker Gerald Hayes will remain at the MLB position with fellow veteran LB Joey Porter at LOLB and up and comer Daryl Washington at ROLB. The 2-3 Cardinals host the Seahawks coming out of the bye, only two weeks after their 27-0 blowout loss.
