Coming off 2 disappointing losses in a row and with division rival 49ers coming to town the Cards knew this was a pivotal point in their season. With the 49ers only 1 game behind and threatening to take over the division, the Cards came out as focused as they have all season.

The 49ers would win the toss and defer until the 2nd half. Merian would lead the Cards on a steady drive that would stall around the 49ers 35 yard line, resulting in a field goal and a quick 3-0 lead. Matt Williams would lead the 49ers right back down field but would only be held to a field goal to tie the game at 3 setting up another hotly contested division battle. However, the Cardinals had other plans as they would then score 34 unanswered points en route to a 37-3 victory. The defense was swarming all day resulting in Matt Williams completing only 9 of 22 passes while also throwing 2 interceptions. The defense would also force a fumble on the 1 yard line as the 49ers were threatening to score. On offense Jason Merian would lead the way with 255 yards and 3 touchdowns through the air while also rushing for 43 yards on the ground. Ryan Williams would chip in for 121 yards and a touchdown of his own on the ground. Filling in for the injured Michael Floyd, WR Jerome Simpson would step up in his first start and finish with 4 catches for 64 yards and 2 touchdowns. Next up, another big match with the hot New Orleans Saints.
