The 4-3 Cardinals come to 5-2 Atlanta to keep their small winning streak alive.

The First Quarter opened up with the Cards winning the toss but opting to receive, hoping to end the half with the ball and getting after halftime. The Falcons on their first drive throw their first pick and the Cardinals take the ball. Then on a Third and short deep in Falcon Country Cardinals back Stephens-Howling coughs up the ball and gives it back. Again the Cardinals are able to stop the Falcons and they are forced to punt, but with an 11 yard return they have good field position and start to drive again. But, on another 3rd down play Beanie Wells coughs up the ball again and the Falcons Recover.

    End of 1st 0-0 Tied

The 2nd Quarter again saw a Falcons drive come up short, but this time the Cardinal defense wasn't going to let the offense screw it up and Donald Butler took the INT in from 46 yards to put the first point of the game up on the board, 7-0 Falcons. On the next drive the Falcons found themselves on a 3rd and long but Ryan throws it up and finds Roddy White for a huge 46 yard gain, however the Cardinals defense gets a solid hit and knocks Matt Ryan out for the remainder of the half. Redman has clean up duty and runs the ball in from 1 yard out on a 3rd and goal, 7-7 tied. The Cards receive the kick and decide it is time to give the receivers a chance to move the ball and John Skelton finds Breaston for a 73 yard TD, 14-7 Cards. After the kickoff, Falcons get a little nervous being behind and take to the air. After studying the stats the Cardinals but a higher priority on Rookie TE Tanner and on a deep cross take the deep safety out of position to keep the deep field. Redman makes them pay by hitting Blake on a streak for a 60 yard TD, 14-14 tied. The Cardinals hope to slow down the game with 21 points being scored in less than 2 min so they take to the ground but have to settle for a FG with a little over 2 min to go, 17-14 Cards. These last 2 min saw a couple players get their jobs taken away for the remainder of the half. First the Falcons attempt their 2 min offense but throw an INT to Adrian Wilson deep in Cardinals territory with a little less than a minute to play. Then the Cards to get a little greedy and Skelton throws a horrible ball for his second INT for the game. The Falcons take over get inside the redzone and run out of time and are forced to kick a FG, but they miss wide right.

    Halftime 17-14 Cards

At halftime, both teams make adjustments, Falcons put Ryan back in and the Cards call on their veteran QB to hang on to the ball. The third quarter was almost a blur... Cardinals get the ball on the kickoff Campbell drives and we have a TD on a one yard pass to Colt Stone, 24-14 Cards. The Falcons on the next drive throw a pick, Cards get the ball again, drive, and a one yard score from Colt Stone this time on a run 31-14 Cards. The Falcons again are unable to move the ball, they either punt or throw another INT and the Cards Capitalize with another score, this time a pass to Garvin form 16 yards out, 38-14 Cards.

    3rd Quarter 38-14 Cardinals

The 4th had both teams trying to slow down the game, The Falcons on a couple runs find themselves on a third and long, throw a cross, but DRC who is hanging in the flats picks it off for a TD 45-14. The rest of the quarter saw the Falcons and Cards eating up clock and trading punts.

    Final 45-14 Cards

Overall it was not a good game for the Falcons after a 1 TD 7 INT performance which is tough for anyone to endure. GG Obisan, I anticipate a new game plan next time we play.

Rumor has it that John Skelton may have lost the starting with some wild throws, Jason Campbell will be starting against the team that drafted him next week. Player of the game was a unified defense. The Defense did a great job of covering the field and keeping the Falcons at bay.
