Following a tough loss last week in which the defense was completely abused by the Seahawks, the Cards defense knew they needed to a better showing against an up and coming Rams team. While the defense isn't playing up to the style they were accustomed to in season 1, they were still able to get the job done. They were able to hold the Rams to under 200 yards of total offense and were able to hold the Rams to field goals after turnovers by the offense. The move to put rookie OLB Khamari Jackson to his normal strongside position appeared to pay off as he was constantly in the backfield and was able to set the edge and not allow Rams backs to get to the outside. On offense, Ryan Williams led the way finishing the day with 2 touchdowns, after coughing it up on the first possession of the game. Jason Merian would be efficient going 18 for 21(i think) but needs to hold onto the ball better as he threw 2 interceptions and fumbled multiple times while being hit. Overall, it was an improvement from week 1 and we now look ahead to week 3 where we face our 3rd division opponet in 3 weeks and take on the 49ers.
