The Cards went into San Francisco hoping to gain a little breathing room in the division. The game couldn't have started out any better for the Cards. The Cards won the toss and elected to kick and on the 49ers first play from scrimmage, MLB Brandon Spikes blasted RB KJ Knight and CB Jayvon Parker scooped it up for the score and quick 7-0 lead. However, the next few minutes did not go well for the Cards. After forcing a punt on the next 49ers possession, the Cards would then fumble twice inside their own redzone. Luckily, the defense stepped up and only allowed field goals to maintain the 7-6 lead. On the Cards next possession, Jason Merian would lead them downfield and run it in himself on a QB keeper from about 6 yards out for a 14-6 lead. Another field goal by the 49ers would cut the lead to 14-9 before Jason Merian would connect with rookie WR Terrance King for a 91 yard bomb in his first game back after missing the previous 5 for a 21-9 lead heading into the half. The second half was a little more quiet other than more turnovers from both teams but every time the 49ers would get close, the Cards would make a play on offense or defense to stop any momentum and walk out with the 31-16 victory.

    Players of the game:
Cardinals defense: 5 int, 2 fumbles, 3 sacks
WR Terrance King: 5 catches, 178 yards and 1 td
