After struggling for years to run the football in any sort of way Carolina GM CSteud decided to make a change before the 2019 SIM season. Veteran MLB Luke Kuechly and 2019's first round pick were sent to Cleveland and in exchange the Browns sent superstar RB JaMichael Elmore, MLB Justin Houston and their second round pick(32). Houston would step in and fill the spot in the middle vacated by Kuechly so no loss there and Elmore was better than any other back we could of picked up in the draft. WR Bernard Tull was selected with the 2nd round pick included in the deal. The juries still out on Tull who's fighting to get on the field.

The decision was made to draft a QB with the 2nd round pick this draft in hopes of lighting a fire under the ass of the struggling Cam Newton. Benched in favor of the Rookie to start the season Cam wouldn't be on the sideline for too long. After a promising start that saw Wells toss a 50 yard TD pass to Kelvin Benjamin in the first quarter he took a sack on the next drive and sustained a torn shoulder labrum and will miss 5 weeks. Ace Boogie stepped in and stepped up completing 8 of 9 passes for 121 yards and a TD leading Carolina to a 20-0 victory over division foe Atlanta. RB JaMichael Elmore was consistent running the ball all day which took the pressure to perform off of Cam who's lacked any sort of running attack behind him thus far into CSteud's tenure as GM. Elmore extended drives in key situations averaged over 4 yards a carry and ended the day carrying 23 times just missing the century mark with 97 yards. After stopping the Falcons with under a minute left until halftime Cam Newton launched a deep pass to Marcus Gooden who somehow got behind the defense on a streak out of the slot positon. Gooden hauled in the pass and crossed the goaline with his lone catch on the day a 59 yard TD reception. Carolina's secondary reaked havoc all day picking off Atlanta QB 5 times. Rookie superstar Delano Cain whom Carolina traded up to snag with the 16 pick in the fourth round of this years draft showed he's the real deal snagging two ints. CB's Javier Henderson and Clifford Norris both had interceptions as did SS Tavarres Tucker in the 20-0 win.

Congrats on the big win, Chris! Glad to see the moves between our teams paying off early on both sides. Man, that rookie CB you got, that was definitely a win for you. I should have stood pat and picked that kid, lol.
