Yeah no problem - check out my roster management thread (the Bills) to give you a flavor of how you should post stuff here.

yea I looked over yours. With me joining mid-season it makes some of the stuff pointless. I'll most likely drop some guys, I'll need to look over the roster on MLM. We are past Free Agent signing I believe.

@TEClemson53 You need to officially sign your rookies, (you dont HAVE to sign anyone, just sign the ones you want.) You also need to specify your 7 free cuts, again not required but you can use up to 7. Any guys you cut after the 7 are normal with penalty cuts.

The other thing you have to do is just basically ensure that your console roster matches up perfectly with the roster on your spreadsheet. That means go through, position by position, looking for any extraneous guys that are on your console roster when compared to your spreadsheet.

Now, if you find one of those guys and want to keep him, thats fine, just say that you're signing him. Otherwise release him from your console roster (no penalty since he never really belonged to you.)

The other thing is look for guys that are supposed to be on your console but aren't (the cpu likely cut them before you got here.) Anyway, you again have to decide what you want to do with them. If you want to keep them, just re-add them to your console roster. If you want to cut them, officially, say so here. Remember you have 7 free cuts so you can use those on these guys as well.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I'm not sure what to do about the rookies contracts/$ situation. I don't know what the game ended up giving them contract wise. I'll have to come back in this post and update the $ deal.

    Rookie Signings
    LT - Zach Jackson
    MLB - Emmanuel Burch

I think I read you post somewhere else that if you don't sign rookies that it's like you never had them anyway so it doesn't effect your 7 allowed cuts.

Rookie Brandon Samuels - Not Signed - Released Off Team In Game
Rookie Stephen Hartley - Not Signed - Released Off Team In Game
Rookie Evan Murray - Not Signed - Released Off Team In Game
Rookie Calvin Mann - Not Signed - Released Off Team In Game

    Cuts
    RG - Duke Robinson
    RT - Garry Williams

Players Not On Spreadsheet (that are on the team)
    DT - Warren Darter
    K - Shayne Graham
    MLB - Emmanuel Burch

Players On Spreadsheet (that are not on the team)
    RG - D. Robinson
    RT - G. Williams
    LB - J. Senn
    LB - A. Hodge
    LB - J. Williams
    CB - R. McClain
    S - M. Hudson
    K - J. Kasay
    K - R. Lloyd

@TEClemson53 Wow nice work man - I'm really impressed.

Basically you just do what you've done and I do the contracts for you. If you're a real sport, you can also try to do the contract stuff to save me some time but no big deal.

What you need to do is decide what to do, officially with all of these guys.

With your rookies, its pretty clear. You're signing two of these guys, you're not signing the rest.

I see your cuts as well, thats fine, thats 2 out of your free 7 cuts.

Now, the other guys. If they're are not on your spreadsheet but on your roster, decide what to do with them. Are you sure they aren't rookies? Either way, decide if you want to keep them. If you do, just specify that you're signing them.

If they're on your spreadsheet but no on your roster, you have two options - 1. put them back on your roster or 2. Officially cut them. Either way, let me know what you're doing with them.

Once you answer all of that, I'll update your spreadsheet.

Players Not On Spreadsheet (that are on the team)
DT - Warren Darter - Signed
    K - Shayne Graham - Signed
MLB - Emmanuel Burch - Signed (Rookie)

Players On Spreadsheet (that are not on the team)
    RG - D. Robinson - Cut
    RT - G. Williams - Cut
    LB - J. Senn - Cut
    LB - A. Hodge - Cut
    LB - J. Williams - Cut
    CB - R. McClain - Cut
    S - M. Hudson - Cut
    K - J. Kasay - Cut
    K - R. Lloyd - Cut

do those count against my 7 free cuts? If they do then I'll have to go back through and see which ones to actually cut and which ones to go in and resign them. I just figured since they aren't on my in-game roster then the spreadsheet was just out of date since no one was actually Carolina.

@TEClemson53 - you used 2 of your 7 free cuts already so 5 of them would be free and the rest would be with penalty cuts.

Let me know what you decide.

@TEClemson53 Okay sounds good. I put the 3 new guys on your sheet, used your 7 free cuts and removed those guys from your sheet. All you have to do now is get on your console and sign the players that are left (ie Garry Williams, A. Hodge, J. Williams)

Your sheet is up to date.

You have a lot of cap space left so you may want to consider doing some in-season re-signings *cough* Deangelo Williams *cough* That way you pay his signing bonus this season instead of next season.

    Resignings:
    HB - D. Williams - 93 OVR - 5 Yrs - $9 + $6 SB
    OL - R. Kalil - 90 OVR - 5 Yrs - $8 + $5 SB
    LE - C. Johnson - 82 OVR - 4 Yrs - $9 + $5 SB
    LB - T. Davis - 87 OVR - 5 Yrs $7 + $5 SB
    CB - R. Marshall - 84 OVR - 4 Yrs - $8 + $5 SB

heres who I would LIKE to re-sign but I know I'm over on the cap. I just need to know by how much so I can see who to re-sign and who will have to go into the FA. From my spreadsheet it's showing I'm at 214 on the cap for this season, that leaves me $36. I guess I'll have to narrow that down and hope to get some of them back for next season, my cap is pretty low for next season already.

    Well just do the math - 9+6 IS 15, 8+5 IS 13....

    So youve got
    15
    13
    14
    12
    13
    = 67

What I would recommend is only signing some guys now and waiting until restricted FA to sign the others - that way you pay some guys signing bonuses this season and other guys signing bonuses next season(restricted FA resignings count towards next seasons cap.)

    @TEClemson53 Let me know.

@TEClemson53 - you still have additional cap space if you wish to use it.

    Your spreadsheet has been updated.

After the update, with how I am seeing it, it's possible I could've signed all the guys I mentioned above. I could be wrong but after signing those two guys, my cap is still in pretty good form. If I'm wrong, let me know but I'd like to go ahead and grab the other 3. A lot of these guys are rather young so I'd hate to lose them.

    More Resignings
    LE - C. Johnson - 82 OVR - 4 Yrs - $9 + $5 SB
    LB - T. Davis - 87 OVR - 5 Yrs $7 + $5 SB
    CB - R. Marshall - 84 OVR - 4 Yrs - $8 + $5 SB

I'm retarded and overlooked something - as usual. NEW cap money is going to be less than that total from above because those guys are already on your roster. NEW cap money is represented by the signing bonuses and any increase in salary due to progression.

@TEClemson53 - your sheet is up to date.

"alot of work".......you need a list of who has 1 year contracts of who I'm keeping and letting go right?

I haven't been around much lately, just enough to get games in, wedding planning is taking up time lately

Yes. Its been difficult for some people. You also need your console roster to be at or under 48 players total. My suggestion is to simply cut guys you for sure aren't going to re-sign.

    The draft is also tonight.

yeah I've been keeping up with stuff, just not posting. I'll work on this with the downtime I'll have at work the rest of the afternoon, as far as the console roster stuff, I can knock that out tonight before the draft.

Sheet updated. You may want to take another look at who you're re-signing. Re-signing that many guys has pushed you close to cap (237) and you still need to sign your rookies and such. If I were you, I would check FA to see what sorta players are there first before determining what sort of moves to make. You can probably let some of these guys walk then sign them back or someone similar for cheaper.
