Both have mastered the passing game and are among the top in the country in practically all passing categories. Each have a game changing receiver that can single handedly take over a game. Defensively, USC has two lock down Corners in TJ Bryant and Shareece Wright. They have combined for 9ints on the season and are 1 and 2 in the Pac-10 conference respectively. The secondary of Notre Dame is also the strong point of the defense. CB Robert Blanton and Darrin Walls lead a team who have double digit ints on the season. Both teams secondary will be tested early and often. The USC Trojans have held down the #1 spot for the majority of the 2010 season. They are led offensively by QB Matt Barkley. He has thrown for 2715yds and 26 tds to only 8 ints in just his second year as a collegiate player. His favorite target is WR, DeVon Flournoy. He has caught 47 passes for 1085yds and 7 tds this season. The Trojans have relied heavily on the passing game and sound defense to help them to their perfect record thus far this season. Notre Dame is lead by first year starter Dayne Christ. He has done well with the installation of the new offense. He has currently passed for 3183yds and 21tds with 17ints. His favorite target(s) are Heisman leading candidate, Michael Floyd. He has put up some astounding numbers this season and a good outing against the Trojan defense will all but seal the covenant trophy for yet another great player from the Irish clan. He has 71 rec. for 1668yds and 16tds; 500yds and 5tds more than the #2 receiver. Notre Dame is currently 8-2 on the season and ranked #22 in the FBS. USC QB, Matt Barkley is the catalyst that makes the Trojan offense run. If they are going to be successful against the Irish, he must play mistake free football.
