The Bears locked up Brian Urlacher to a 3 year contract for nearly $9 million per year. When questioned by the media about giving a 34 year old MLB that kind of extension Coach Dru responded - "I call that contract payment for past performance. It is our intent that Brian will retire as a Bear."

The Bears are willing to entertain offers for the following players:

    QB Jason Campbell
    HB Matt Forte

The team is also willing to pay the bus fair to anyone willing to take LT J'Marcus Webb.

Could have some interest in Knox/Hester as well as LBs you have

I'm not actively shopping anyone but if you want to make an offer feel free to send me a PM.

With the trade deadline 2 weeks away, the Bears are willing to discuss trades involving anyone not named Cutler, Marshall, Jeffrey, Peppers, Urlacher, Briggs or Tillman.

The team would be looking for the following in any deal (in order of preference):

    1. A young MLB prospect to groom behind Urlacher.
    2. A G that would be an improvement over my current crop of stiffs.
    3. Draft picks.

Matt Forte and Devin Hester are available now and into the offseason. If you want a 93 OVR HB or a top flight return guy to help put you over the top hit me up.

In a move that surprised some in the Windy City, the Bears shipped WR/KR Devin Hester to the New England Patriots for a 2013 3rd round selection. Coach Dru on the move - "We really appreciate what Devin has done for the Bears franchise over the past 7 seasons, but his role in our offense as the 4th WR wasn't what he was looking for and he requested that we seek a trade to a team that would put him on the field more. Additionally, I don't place as much of an emphasis on special teams returns as my predecessor did and I feel we will get similar production from Johny Knox who is finally recovered from his gruesome back injury suffered last season. I wish Devin the best in the future and hope he has a successful career in New England."

Getting the pick for Hester gives the Bears a full complement of selections in next years draft.

Coach Dru has announced that there will be a change at QB for the teams next game, as Jason Campbell will start. Coach Dru also indicated other changes will be forthcoming as the team looks to change things up.

He can't throw it worse than Cutler has the past 4 games.

    Hahaha

If you knew how tempted I've been to put Colt McCoy in...I just have a feeling his 82 throw power will get me in MORE trouble. I'm trying to be patient with Weeden and not look at the QB's in the draft.

Cutler is a FA after this year, I need to be certain that the issue is me and not something with his ratings (I think it's the former) before I decide if I'm going to pay him $10+ million a year.

Didn't realize he was in a contract year. Can't say I blame you.

Sorry, I meant he is a FA after next season. But I still want to see if I can change up the mojo some. If cutler throws a pick he suddenly can't throw any passes with accuracy. Kind of realistic I suppose.

Cold streaks are tough in M13. I'm starting to learn to watch for them and sub.

This is something that I'm finally learning. I figured you could break a cold streak by just keep on keepin' on, but it's cost me completions/yardage/conversions because of it.

I did have one silver lining in my last game...i discovered that my rookie TE Evan Rodriguez can play some. Kid got open and made some nice catches in traffic.

That's a cool dynamic that progression adds. There is a tangible benefit for getting youth reps if you are a bad team. Likewise, I found out that Travis Benjamin could be special, and this week I get Josh Gordon back. I'll have two rookies getting reps at receiver.

Nice thing about the Browns, they are the NFL's youngest team (despite having a 30 year old rookie QB)

I wish I could sign Webb to a long contract before I make him a stud.
