Chicago- The Bears agreed today to send backup QB Jason Campbell to the Bucs today for a 2013 5th round draft pick and 2014 4th round draft pick. "Backup QB is important, especially with what we went through last year. But we are going to have to keep adding pieces if we are going to stay competitive in this league. Anytime you can add two assets for one, you take it", GM Jamie Wolf said.

Jason Campbell was upset about the trade because he chose to go to Chicago but understands the business. He welcomes the opportunity to go to Tampa Bay and help Josh Freeman continue to develop.

The Bears waisted little time in offering free agent to be Matt Forte a contract extension. They agreed on a 5 year deal worth $40 million total, with $30 million of that guarenteed. "The last regime wanted to pussy foot around and not get this man his money. What he brings to the table, Matt deserves every bit of that," Coach Lacy said.

The Bears reached an agreement with backup LB Nick Roach to the tune of 4 years for just over $2 million total with non guarenteed.

Will eval when I get home. Prob not going to trade Marshall. Only player doing anything currently since Hester can't hang onto a friggin ball. Plus with my slight upgrade at LT, I would like to see how that plays out.

Hester came on late and actually won me a game last year, so he redeemed himself...for now.

    Free Agents signings:

    RG: Ramon Foster
Jaques McClendon Needed O-Line help in the worst way, but with limited funds, had to go on the cheap. Foster fills a starting spot, while McClendon will get better by watching.

    CB: Chris Harris
    P. Adams Needed speed in the secondary and both of these guys bring it. Both need to develop.

DT: Travis Ivey Needed more beef up the middle, allowing the linebackers to do their job.

    Draftees:

    C: Jon Scroggins

    LG: Davonte Sims

    LT: Brian Comardelle

We needed serious help on the O-Line and my assistants did a hell of a job filling a bunch of holes. All need work, but are definite upgrades over last year.

FB: Akiu Atwater: An upgrade over Tyler Clutts in every way. Bigger, stronger, faster, smarter.

    QB: Josh Clarke

    HB: A.J. Jessie

    HB: Terrence Mozee

    Head scratchers at best.

    Free agency after draft:

DT: Dwan Edwards Will start opposite Toeina right away. Another middle stuffer which will allow our play makers on defense do their jobs.

Wr: Tandon Doss Just a backup that gives us more depth in case of injuries.
