Number of scholarships available is determined by the following 3 things:

    A) 70 - number of players on your roster
    B) number of seniors
    C) 2 player cushion

    And for REDSHIRTING:
    • You can only redshirt 1/3 of guys 76 and higher
    • O Linemen do NOT count in the tally of 76+
    • Cannot redshirt more than 1/2 of players regardless of overall
    • No non-freshman/transfer/juco can redshirt
    • Must have 8 OL not redshirting

    Happy recruiting!

    Hogs Have 14 Scholarships Available

The first commit of the year is the #7 DT prospect Jacob Gordon. Gordon, 6'5" 295lbs, from Jonesboro, LA projects to be a stud on the Hog D-Line. He's a big kid who can get off blocks and is a sure tackler. Gordon also has a knack for deciphering the play and the ability to pursue sideline to sideline. He could see action in his first year on campus.

    OREGON GETS FIRST COMMIT

The Oregon coaching staff is very high on Mr. Johnson. He is projected to be a running back next year, and possesses the kind of backfield speed that hasn't been seen in Eugene since the departure of Heisman winner De'Anthony Thomas. Coach Jandy expects Chase to see playing time as a true freshman, and believes that he has the skills to contribute immediately.

    Hogs Add Two More

Arkansas has picked up two more commitments in recent weeks as they prepared for several visits during the week 10 matchup against Auburn. First up is "Sir" Kingsley Harper, the 12th rated QB in this year's class. Harper, from Dyersburg, TN, is 6'1" 194 lbs and has the mix of speed and passing skills that the Razorback coaches always look for in their QBs. He'll have to wait for his chance to play with Greg Stanley and John Archie already on the roster, but he projects as another strong QB for the Hogs. WR Zach Britt (6' 3" 193 lbs) from Indian Hills, NV is the 4th ranked WR in this class and was high on the Hogs from day one. Britt has good speed and a quick first step, but he's not just a burner. He has good hands and runs very crisp routes. Britt is talented enough to see the field immediately, but WR is a crowded postition for Arkansas so only time will tell if he can earn playing time early on.

Hogs Add Two More, Including Top Target
Arkansas recently picked up two more commitments, including the top player on their board. CB Steve Easley, 6'0" 177 lbs, from Canyon, TX will likely see playing time as a true freshman with 4 senior corners on the current roster. He shows great coverage skills and good speed, which should help him get on the field early on in certain defensive packages. The Razorbacks also grabbed a commitment from Josh Pitts, 6'0" 189 lbs, from Scottsboro, AL. Pitts could be moved to FS depending on how things shake out with current players. Pitts will need some time to develop before he sees much action on the field, but he'll add some much needed depth to the secondary.
The Hogs hosted several key recruits this week against Mississippi State, so the coaching staff is hoping to have more commits to talk about soon.
