Clemson Tigers Game Summaries Week 1: Clemson vs. Middle Tennessee State Clemson began the 2009 season with overmatched Middle Tennesee. The game was never in doubt as Clemson was able to rest all of their starters the entire 2nd half. Coach Geaux had this to say about his first game as head coach of the Tigers, "It sure feels good to get the first one. I have to give all the credit to the players. As long as C.J. (Spiller) stays healthy, we have a chance in every game." Asked about his expectations for the season, Coach Geaux added, "Obviously I was brought here to get the program to the next level. We can't expect to do that in one year. It's a process. However, the first step of that process is to generate interest in our program. Winning is probably the best way to do that. We have some very talented veteran players that want to win now. We'll take this thing one game at a time and hopefully when the season is over, we'll have given our players and our fans something to be proud of." Next up for Clemson is Georgia Tech. Tech's offense features a deadly fleXbox One attack combined with a revamped passing offense that was implemented in the offseason by Coach Juggs. Clemson will likely need to avoid giving up the big play if they want to start the ACC slate with a victory.
