After taking over a 3-3 team, coach Brenton Brown came right in and got to work. He released RT Marc Columbo, QB Seneca Wallace, LOLB Emmanuel Acho, K Nick Novak, and P Reggie Hodges (had 2 kickers and punters). He then got on the phone with agents and flew RT Jammal Brown, DT Fred Robbins, and LOLB Brandon Johnson in to Clevenland. All 3 players were siged to 1 year deals. Brown came out and said,"Jammal is a very experienced tackle, and Columbo just wasn't getting the job done. Robbins will be a great 3rd down interior lineman, and Brandon Johnson will help his linebacking core out with speed. Cleveland is buzzing right now about the sudden moves, but fans are excited about coach Brown's track record. Time will tell the story on Coach Brown, but for now, the Dawg Pound is ready to go.

After a 1-2 start for Coach Brown, he's went on record saying, "right now this team just doesn't have all of the pieces to compete for a Super Bowl title." He then stated that he would completely re-evaluate his roster at the season's end. "It's pretty rare to get a channce to watch players play a half a season, and then be able to evaluate their performance on the field based off of that amount of time, and decide if they fit in your system," Brown said. Coach Brown could have more of those "peices" in place than he thinks, and at 4-5 they still have a shot at a playoff spot. He would not go on record, but he told me in person that he would like to upgrade at the QB and CB positions.

Browns Win Big in Free Agency

Cleveland Browns head coach Brenton Brown wasn't pulling anyone's leg after saying that every player would be re-evaluated after the season. The Brown's could have possibly had the biggest off-season in franchise history. Here's what they got:

    Via Trade:
    CB Brandon Flowers 91 overall
    DT Dontari Poe 82 overall

    Via Free Agency:
    QB Josh Freeman 87 overall
    DE Osi Umenyiora 93 overall
    G Jon Asamoah 87 overall
    DT Antonio Garay 85 overall
    WR Mike Williams 82 overall
    WR Danny Amendola 77 overall
    P Chas Henry 81 overall
    SS Larry Asante 75 overall
    RB Johnathan Dwyer 78 overall
    T Anthony Collins 84 overall
    OLB Jamar Chaney 77 overall
    TE Marellus Bennet 74 overall
    G John Jerry 79 overall

It was an excellent off season for the Brown's, and they plan on filling the rest of the gaps through the draft.
