Mike Holmgren's Personal Playground.
Cleveland wishes the best in his future endeavors to 10 year veteran SS Nick Sorensen who has retired at the end of this season.
The entire Cleveland Brown franchises sends their best wishes in the future to these recently released players:
HB Thomas Clayton OVR 61
WR Demetrius Williams OVR 66
RT John St. Clair OVR 66
MLB Blake Costanzo OVR 58
RE Jayme Mitchell OVR 58
TE Alex Smith OVR 73
Nutter, contracts are not incrementing for Season 2. Please let me know if you'd like to revise your list, otherwise I will go ahead and make those changes to your salary cap sheet. Thanks for posting your list of cuts though to get at or under 48 players.
Contracts are updated with what I want now.
Mike Holmgren's Second Draft addressed some good needs for the Browns, here are the following contracts for the new group of Browns.
FS Dorian Hill ovr 89
4 years SB $5 (required)
RE Dion Cooper ovr 80
5 years SB $1
MLB Kierre Roberson ovr 73
4 years SB 0
K Justin Coker ovr 73
5 years SB 0
WR Damon Addison ovr 65
4 years SB 0
RT Joe Ozycz ovr 61
3 years SB 0
CB Brandon Martin ovr 60
3 years SB 0
Nutter, please take another look at your resignings of your non rookies. There is a signing bonus associated with each of those signings so I'm assuming you'll want to revise that list. Just post in here when you've revised it and I'll update your spreadsheet with everything.
Also not that you are not required to sign all of your rookies. Let me know if you'd like to revise that list as well.
Rookies I will keep all of em, I do know that 3 years is the minimum and I did sign players to more than that which is fine with me. I didn't realize there was a signing bonus associated with all of them let me take a look and I will submit a new list
Mike Holmgren was busy just hours after finishing the draft Holmgren announced the new contract deals for the following players:
RB Peyton Hillis ovr 84
4 years SB $5, Contract: $7
CB Eric Wright ovr 82
3 years SB $4 Contract: $5
DT Ahtyba Rubin ovr 77
4 years SB $4 Contract: $6
Rookies are required to have 3 year contracts. If you'd like to renegotiate their deal after this season when they have 2 years left, feel free.
Nice job on doing the contracts though, that saves me a lot of time when I'm plugging them into the spreadsheets so thank you for that.
Hillis is an 85ovr so that affects his contract slightly. He now gets a 5yr contract but nothing else is affected.
Your spreadsheet has been updated up to this point. I'll have to go back in and fill in the age of your rookies but other than that you're good to go.
Free Agency Signing:
DE Kyle Vanden Bosch 2 years, $6, $1 SB
SS Larry Asante 3 years, $3, $0 SB
DT Andrew Howell 2 years, $1 $0 SB
DE Tyrus Pound 2 years, $1 $0 SB
ROLB David Bowens 3 years $4, so turns into $2 against me (Only had cut 6 pre-draft so this should be free actually)
FS Abram Elam 1 year $2, so only $1 against me
DE Derreck Robinson 1 year $3 so only $1.5 against me (Only had cut 6 pre-draft so this should be free actually)
If you only cut 6, then you only have 1 free cut left. It makes sense the use it on the guy that would count most against you, D. Bowens. The other two will stay on your cap.
Your sheet is up to date to this point.
Wasn't sure if it was 7 or 8 lol so I figured yeah use it on the guy that would cost me the most. Much appreciated on the clarification on it Keller.
RB James Davis 3 years $2 SB Contract: $5
RB Mike Bell 1 year $5 so counts for 2.5 against me.
Mike Holmgren announced the following change:
"We would like to wish QB Jake Delhomme well in his future, after sitting down and talking to Jake, he appears to be set in his mind about retirement of the end of the season and just does not feel he can still be a productive member of the organization. Jake is a class act and we hope to bring him into the front office following retirement"
Browns cut QB Jake Delhomme (Penalty of 2, for this season and next **unless he retires**)
Browns announce the signing of rookie QB Allen Brown out of Davidson for the remainder of the season
(Brown is a 48 overall and therefore costs me nothing)
Cleveland Browns Upcoming Free Agents
Players to be Resigned
Marcus Benard 28 years old, OVR 78, 4 years, $4, $4 SB
Reggie Hodges 32 years old, OVR 71, 2 years, $1, $3 SB
Players going to Free Agency
Phil Dawson **Most likely to retire**
Ray Ventrone **Most likely to retire**
Seneca Wallace **Most likely to retire**
Restricted FA's (Will decide after the draft)
There are a few on my spreadsheet that are not on the roster console and that I never saw during the year, they are in last year contracts anyways but in case you saw them missing in my list of guys that is why.
@ Keller @ Seachicken
Players with lines through them have been released to FA.
Cut players with strikethrough from spreadsheet - waiting to hear about others.
RED DE K. Vanden Bosch - matched to Lamar Houston
RED CB J. Haden - matched to Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
I will figure out what I am doing with them by Sunday when i get home. I am away for the weekend so I'm not near the console.
Does that mean Vanden Bosch will want a contract of $6 per season with a $4 signing bonus? and Haden will want a salary of $8 with a $5 signing bonus? Just to clarify what exactly the Max accelerators are.
3 players will be kept as restricted FA's until after the draft. As listed above, after the draft decisions regarding the 3 will be made then.
Whatever it says, thats what they demand come contract time.
Separate names with a comma.
