In a season riddled with poor coaching decisions (leaving 1 on 1 coverage on the last drive of the game, forgetting your stick control at home, and letting Denard Robinson actually play QB and not punt returner) this one stands out above them all. Davin Megget, son of former NFL Giant and current resident of the South Carolina correctional facility, is a great RB with a legitimate shot at the Heisman trophy. But it seems as though the coaching staff wants it even more than the young star does. Even with time running out in the 4th quarter instead of trying to win the game Maryland was handing off to Meggett trying to impress the Heisman voters. I guess they actually watched the game instead of the ESPN highlights because despite rushing for 300 yards he fell in the Heisman race to #2. Goes to show you that trying to win at all costs just makes you look like an ass in the end [see Cobra Kai Dojo]. This week's C'mon Son!: Worse Performance of Week 14 goes to Maryland's Coaching Staff. When a shot at the Heisman Trophy is more important than a win in a tight ACC title chase you really have to reevaluate your priorities. With rumors flying around of an exodus to Purdue at the end of this season (a heavy running OC paired with a strictly passing school...yeah I'm sure that one will work out) perhaps Maryland's coaching staff really doesn't give a damn. Either way the one award we are sure they will win this year is this weeks Worse Performer. Congrats!
