"This was a bitter-sweet win for us" Coach Jag said following the 28-20 win over rival GT in the Chick Fil A bowl. This was a "bitter-sweet" victory because after this season, coach Jag will be stepping down as the UGA head coach to pursue his dream job of coaching the Florida Gators.

But focousing on the game... This was a heavy weight fight from start to finish. Sophomore qb Joseph Daniels started todays game. If you remember, Daniels was knocked out week 3 with a shoulder injury.

The first quarter was started off with a bang, as the GT qb took a qb keeper and took it 54 yards to the house for a touchdown. But Georgia would respond! They put together a long drive and Andrew Bennett took it in for a 10 yard touchdown run. The Dawgs wouldnt have to worry about the starting GT qb. In the first quarter, all-american linebacker Rod Henry put a hit on him and he suffered a broken elbow. But the backup Cedric Weber would end up on tourching UGA through the air.

In the second quarter, the Dawgs would add another touchdown off of a 3 yard rushing touchdown by Andrew Bennett. But GT would answer right back as they mounted a long drive that was capped off by a 2 yard rush by Cedric Weber.

In the third quarter, GT jumped out in front. Cedric Weber threw a bomb to Jarred Lloyd for a 74 yard td pass, which put them up 20-14 (the xp was missed). But, the resiliant Dawgs would strike back. Joseph Daniels would put together a drive and it was capped off by a 20 yard td pass to Carlos Thornburg.

In the fourth, just as it looked as if GT might mount a comeback, Bennett put a dagger in their heart. He took the pitch and ran it 47 yards for a touchdown to put the Dawgs up 28-20. The UGA D would hold, and a few kneel downs later, the Dawgs were celebrating a big win!

    TOP PREFORMERS:
    Andrew Bennett- 24 att 196 yards 3 td's
MLB Rod Henry- 11 tackles (6 TFL)
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On a side note. How did Andrew Bennett not get mentioned in the hiseman race?! The RB who finished 2nd in the voting, Brian Scott (Oregon) had 210 rushes for 1312 yards and 20 td's. Bennett finished this season with 231 att for 1867 yards 15 td's. Just wondering how he didnt get ANY consideration for it.

Yes it is! Ya, they looked like they had a tough season. I was looking at their depth chart today... They dont look to bad offensively. They have a freshman qb that looks good, and they have a good running back. I just have to recruit for a new offense. They run spread, next year its gonna be more under center stuff like I run now. Probably either the pro or LSU multiple offense.
