    What We Learned

    #1. Virginia can play.

What’s to say about the Cavaliers? They got their first win of the season, but it was against one of the top teams in their conference. Coach Clay and his team showed a lot to the entire league by up-ending the Terps in College Park. I do know one thing, I wouldn’t want to have to play these guys late in the year, or at all.

#2. Wake Forest was still thinking about their loss to Maryland.

What the hell happened? I know the hurry up spread (especially Clemson) can be tricky, but lordy Demon Deacons, play some D! I know Coach Wazzu will get his boys ready for next week though. I guarantee Wake plays great next week. Also this has officially killed any hype train I had for the Deacs.

#3. I need to wait on making too big of predictions.

Last week 2 of things I said we learned were: Maryland is as advertised (lost this week) and Boston College can bring the D (gave up 48 points to Miami). Now this is only Maryland’s first loss, so its not like they are a bad team all the sudden, and Boston College is certainly better than the 48 they surrendered Saturday, but I may need to be a tad more careful with my predictions :D

Maryland LB Darin Drakeford – 7 tackles, 1 INT
“Terps got a big game from their linebacker in a prove yourself game.â€

    Mark May
NC State QB Russell Wilson – 19-28 393 yards, 4 TD, 0 INT
“Can’t ask for more from your QB in a rivalry game.â€

    One Bold Prediction
    Vandy over Ole Miss

For one of these you need to find the picture where Lou Holtz is talking about Notre Dame and spits a loogie all over himself to replace Mark May.

The Deacons played the game without QB Skylar Jones, and starting RB Brandon Pendergrass went down basically for the season in the second quarter. This week my Deacons came to play and beat up on Florida State. If the Deacons can upset BC, we will be back in the Atlantic Divison race.
