Boston College found a way to win against Wake Forest. Scott Stadium is no longer a house of pain for cavalier fans. What We Learned #1. Kentucky is slowly gathering momentum behind the scenes. It is no question that Kentucky has one of its better teams in recent past, and head coach Joker Phillips will be the first to tell you so. His Wildcats broke into the top 25 after their win against LSU. UK hosts Mississippi State before hosting Florida. If the Wildcats can win that game they will be set to take the division and have a shot for an SEC title and BCS game. #2. Despite their loss, Vanderbilt isn’t a doormat anymore. Say what you want about the Commodores, but they are gaining respect from the rest of SEC. Vanderbilt has recently been at the bottom of the SEC East, but are making their way back into contention. They host Kentucky a few weeks down the road, and could really raise some eyebrows with a win against either UK or Florida. #3. Boston College keeps finding ways to win. It has sort of been their theme this year: “Whatever you gotta do.†They won a gritty game against Clemson earlier in the year where only 15 points were scored in all, and then came back form 4 first half interceptions to beat Wake Forest 31-24. That’s the sign of a good team. Average or below teams can’t find a way to win those close games, and end up bowing out. Teams like Boston College; there is a reason you will see them ranked very consistently.
