Perfect Season, Bowl Games, and Conference Championship Hopes in Fort Worth

The Aztecs have been a Cinderella story thus far in the Mountain West Conference and will face their biggest test of the season as they travel to Fort Worth, Texas to take on the Horned Frogs of Texas Christian University. It would be a huge confidence boost for first year coach, Coach E, to take down the Horned Frogs. "I'm really just taking it one hour at a time, you know? It's the biggest game of my career as I know it is for most of our athletes. We just need to stay focused and get the job done come game time."

TCU will be lead through the air by quarterback Andy Dalton who has thrown for 2366 yards, 23 TD and only 2 INT. The Aztec defense will need to come up with some turnovers if they're hoping to shut down Dalton. Dalton's go to receiver is Jeremy Kerley who has caught 41 passes for 634 yards and 6 TD Matthew Tucker and Ed Wesley have shared the rushing duties for the Horned Frog offense, combining for over 1000 yards and 8 scores on the season.

On the defensive end, TCU has been lead by Greg McCoy and Jason Teague, a pair of cornerbacks who have both recorded 4 INT on the season. You can be sure Aztec quarterback Ryan Lindley will be watching where he throws the ball.

As for the Aztecs, sophomore quarterback, captain, and leader Ryan Lindley will be the man to watch. Lindley has thrown for 1796 yards, 15 TD, and 6 INT. Lindley's play seems to facilitate how the game is going to go for the Aztecs, so they hope he gets off to a good start. Lindley's favorite target has been senior Doug Deakin who has 26 catches for 506 yards and 4 TD. On the ground, senior halfback Brandon Sullivan went down week 3 with an injury after being atop the NCAA in rushing, Sullivan is expected to be healthy for the game, but nobody knows whether Coach E will play Sullivan or his sophomore backup Walter Kazee who has filled Sullivan's shoes by rushing for 770 yards and 10 TD since Sullivan went down.

On the defensive end, senior BJ Williams leads the charge for the Aztecs ranking 2nd in the NCAA in sacks with 13. Strong safety Romeo Hom, and cornerback Jose Perez who both have 3 INT on the season will need to step up if the Aztecs hope to slow down Dalton and the Horned Frogs.

As game time approaches and Corso says....."I'm going with the Horned Frogs!" All Coach E can do is sit and laugh, "We're going to make a game of this one, just watch."

They did it! The Aztecs knocked off #23 TCU in Forth Worth to continue their unbeaten streak and improve their season record to 10-0. "It was a hard fought battle," said Coach E "I can't tell you how impressed I am with our team, they fought hard, stuck together, and made it happen. What do you think about your pick now Corso?"

The Aztec offense was firing on all cylinders, and played a huge part in the win. Sophomore quarterback Ryan Lindley threw for 195 yards on 10-19 passing and 2 TD. "We had a couple dropped passes that could have cost us the game," Coach E said, "But when we needed guys to make plays, they did that, especially Doug and Walter." Senior receiver Doug Deakin caught a 56 yard touchdown pass from Lindley that helped extend the Aztec lead in the 2nd quarter.

Sophomore running back Walter Kazee has been "The Man" for the Aztec offense since starting running back Brandon Sullivan went down in week 3 with an injury. Kazee rushed for 106 yards on 22 carries and 1 TD , and also caught 2 passes for 48 yards and another TD. Kazee now has 1015 yards, and 13 TD since week 3. "Walter definitely deserves some recognition, he has been the backbone of our offense since Brandon went down," Coach E said.

On the defensive end, the secondary of the Aztecs was the reason for today's success. They held Andy Dalton to only 102 yards passing, 0TD, and 1 INT. Romeo Hom recorded his 4th INT of the year along with 4 tackles and helped solidify the victory for the Aztecs. For TCU, RB Ed Wesley ran for 101 yards and 1 TD
