Week 1: CSU vs. Colorado

CSU Holds Off Buffs To Beat Colorado For 2nd Year in a Row

The Rams had their normal power running game working as they ran for an astounding 338 yards and 4 TDs in their annual matchup with Colorado. The extremely young Rams defense was torched however. They gave up 24 points on 467 yards of total offense. It was the 2 turnovers by the Buffaloes that made the difference in this game.

If the Rams' defense is going to play up to their inexperience, this could be a long season in Fort Collins.

    Week 2: CSU @ Nevada

CSU Holds on to Beat a Very Well Coached Nevada Team, 23-21

This was a game for the ages. It was back and forth and wasn't decided until the final whistle. Both teams went back and forth on offense, and neither team's defense could stop the other team. The defenses were so ineffective that there was only 1 punt in the entire game. Both teams made very costly turnovers which cost them points. If Nevada had not made their turnover, they would've won. If CSU had not made theirs, they could've had a more comfortable lead down the stretch. It was apparent from the midway point that the game would be won by the team that had the ball last, and that's exactly the way it panned out.

In the end, CSU just dominated the T.O.P. with their power running game. Nevada completely shut down CSU's big play ability (CSU's 11 yard run was the only 1 out of 50 rushes for more than 9 yards) but they couldn't stop CSU's consistent short rushing game. CSU seemingly managed at least 3 to 4 yards on every single carry. This allowed CSU to be on offense for 18 minutes compared to only 10 for Nevada.

CSU Embarrassed By Notre Dame, 54-10

There's not much to say here. Notre Dame was obviously too strong, too fast, and too experienced for CSU to handle on Saturday. This game was over by halftime. Things were so bad for CSU, that CSU's best offensive player was actually Notre Dame's kicker! CSU's 1st team offense only managed 3 points while ND's kicker missed 2 XPs and 1 FG so he reduced ND's margin of victory by more than CSU's offense could. Those fuckers kept running up the score too, chucking the ball down field against my 2nd team defense while up by 40+ in the 4th quarter.

Time to try to rebound against a very good Utah team. CSU's very, very young defense is really starting to show how inexperienced they are this year.

So, Notre Dame was cheesing by trying to run up the score late in the game when it was out of hand? I'll have a talk with them about their status with the OFFL MM.

I'd appreciate it! It was pretty damned asinine of them and it really pissed me off. I hope you bypass the "stiff talkin' to" and just straight up ban their cheesing asses. There's no room for that kind of play here!

Tonight in Ft. Collins They're Partying Like It's 1999!

Fresh on the heels of their embarrassing 54-10 loss to Notre Dame, the Rams took on the #5 Utah Utes tonight. This game was simply a tale of 2 quarterbacks. On Utah's side you have a potential All American in Corbin Louks and on CSU's side you have a very mediocre Jon Eastman.

This started off scarily for CSU as Utah marched down the field on their first drive to take a 7-0 lead. CSU was then forced to punt on their 1st drive. On the next drive, Louks would make a bad throw as he completely overshot his receiver on a bomb and JR CB Gerard Thomas would intercept it and then run it all the way back for a TD.

Later in the 1st quarter Thomas would make his 2nd pick of the quarter as he made a great play to cut in front of the receiver.

CSU would use the field position from these turnovers to tie the game up at the half, 17-17. While Louks was throwing interceptions, Eastman was very efficient for the Rams. He got them first downs when they needed them and he finished the game 12/13 for 159 yards, 1 TD and 0 INTs. The 3rd quarter saw the Rams take a 7 point lead on a solid drive. Utah would march the ball into the Rams red zone until safety Ezra Thompson would make a very key interception in the end zone to stop the Utes once again.

Utah would score early in the 4th quarter to tie the game up 24-24. Eastman would then lead the Rams on a 4 1/2 minute, 80 yard drive which was culminated by Eastman's lone TD pass of the game to put the Rams up 31-24. Utah would move the ball down the field once again, but the drive was sealed when SR CB DeAngelo Wilkinson would grab Louks' 4th interception deep in Ram territory.

man i never saw the WR running the curl wide open on that last Pick. however that ball should've been thrown close to the ground were only my WR could get it. but Louks was way off mark (as been since slider change) as usual.

great game though. makes things interesting in the conference at least.

Yeah, it'll make things interesting in the MWC. TCU is by far my biggest road block remaining. If they beat me, then things get very, very interesting.

As far as the sliders go, they don't affect user v. user games so we were playing on default AA sliders for our game.

The Rams weren't afraid to get physical in this game

Things started slowly for the Rams as they allowed the Falcons to go up 7-0 and then 14-7 after the 1st quarter. After the Rams outscored the Falcons 21-0 in the 2nd quarter, however, they never looked back as they cruised to a 21-41 victory in Fort Collins. As per usual, the Rams used a punishing ground game to control the ball and the clock en route to this rivarly game victory. The Rams rushed for an astounding 366 yards and 5 TDs while only completing 2 of 6 passes for 30 yards. CSU had 2 100 yard rushers this game and had 3 with 60+ yards. Unfortunately, that 3rd rusher was true FR Haley who would rupture a disk and will miss the rest of the season.

CSU Signs Their First Recruit of 2010!

Following the Air Force game, CSU announced that they signed the #1 OLB in the country in :5stars: recruit Nick Williamson out of California. There is absolutely no question that Nick will start immediately for the Rams which was one of the things with which he was most concerned. He has decent speed, is a great tackler and has great pursuit. Despite his small 187 lb frame, he is still a good block shedder too. Williamson will instantly improved a very young and, frankly, not very talented CSU defense the second that he steps on the field.

    CSU Retains the Ram-Falcon Trophy

#18 CSU continued to roll as they pounded the BYU Cougars, 37-13. The story of the game was on the ground as CSU amassed 389 rushing yards and all 5 TDs while BYU was held to -3 rushing yards. CSU had 5 different people rush for over 35 yards and 3 different people scored on rushing TDs.

They lost their starting QB to a broken rib in the 3rd quarter and he is expected to miss at least a week. CSU brought in true freshman White to replace him and he did a decent job. It is unclear who will get the next start and we will have to wait and see how the injury plays out.

CSU Coach Jello Steps Down Midway Through the Season

Amid the growing scandal that is allegedly about coach Jello having carnal knowledge with the dean's underage daughter, coach Jello has stepped down as head coach of the Rams. He does this as his Rams are sitting atop the MWC and with a good recruiting class coming in. Hopefully the new Rams coach can continue the winning ways that began with coach Jello.
