Dolphins finish up 2015 season 13-3, #1 seed in AFC Miami, FL -- In what looked to be a make-or-break season for Head Coach Joe Philbin, he rose to the occasion. With the road win in Arizona last week, the Dolphins finished the season 13-3 and locked up the #1 seed in the AFC Playoffs. Hours later, Philbin was announced as the NFL Head Coach of the Year. Philbin read a written statement to the media after accepting the award today. "This was a very important season for our team. Two years ago we went out and proved our doubters wrong, winning the AFC East and winning a home playoff game. Last year, we let down our fans with a terrible 5-11 record. This was our year to turn it back around and prove the season before was not a fluke. I am proud of our players and the way they worked, stayed diligent and never gave up. Our outstanding record and our chance to host 2 home playoff games this year is testament to that." The Dolphins host either the New York Jets or Denver Broncos in potentially the last game at Pro Player Stadium next week.
