    computer question

My internet provider when they installed my modem, gave me a modem that lasted 6 or 7 months before it needed to be replaced. They replaced it today. Should I expect to pay for the new modem, or what normally happens?

if you were leasing your modem.. which is usually the case.. the replacement won't cost you any more than your normal internet costs.

So, most likely I would have to pay for the house call then?

depends on the carrier, if you lease it like Ryno said, its their bad when it dies. I know Cox or Comcast wouldnt charge you, unless you agreed to pay for an emergency call. smaller local companies might charge you.
