Two things he says in the span of about 2 minutes that would lead me to believe he just never really got it. (these quotes are approximate not verbatim)

    Niners/Saints highlights

Highlight: In a game the 49ers ended up winning, they show Alex Smith rolling out to the left, seeing that there wasn't a guy open and having awkward throwing angles while running in that direction he throws it wide and out of bounds.

McNabb: "In that situation it's best to keep the play alive a little longer and give your players more time to get open."

Highlight: Brees threads a perfect pass to Colston for a touchdown over the right pylon. Colston is the only player that ever had a shot at it. It was classic Brees, this ball was either going to be caught by Colston or out of bounds, he was the ONLY player that had a shot at it.

McNabb: "When you have a 6'4" receiver like this you throw it up and give him a chance to compete, and that is the result."

You're reaching, his comments make sense. Maybe it was early when you posted this?

If McNabb was playing, he would have threw the ball 5 yards from the player's feet.
