Coach: John Baden
Offensive Playbook: Dallas Cowboys
Offensive Scheme: Balanced
Defensive Playbook: Multiple D
Defensive Scheme: Attacking 3-4
Player Stats: (Through week 6)
Well 1/4 of the season has gone by, lets take a look at a few surprises and dissapointments so far:
Barry Church (SS) - coming into the season Dallas had concerns with their safety position. The veteran Sensabaugh, an average FS that would be all right, and the new starting SS, Barry Church. The coaches talked about his (Church) upside, and raw ability, but I don't think anyone thought he would be this good, this soon. We all expected some growing pains out there, but Church has more than held his own. Just check out what he's doen through 4 games....he currently leads the team in Interceptions (3), passes defensed (4), forced fumbles (1), defensive touchdowns (1) and is also 4th in tackles. The Cowboys have to be extremely pleased thus far with his play this season.
Kevin Ogletree (WR) - With the departure of L. Robinson in the offseason, someone needed to step up and fill the void at the 3rd WR spot. Ogletree won the job in the preseason and has had a pretty dissappointing season so far. Notching only 5 catches for 123 yards and 1 TD. The majority of that came in his last game, so maybe he'll be turning things around, or maybe he'll continue to dissappoint, only time will tell.
Most Inconsistant Player:
Dez Bryant (WR) - When Dez Bryant is on his game, he's one of the best in the NFL. So far this season he's had mixed results and has been very inconsistant. Bryant has had 2 really great games which consisted of a total of 11 catches, 260 yards, and 4 TDs, however the other two games he had a combined 1 catch for 9 yards and ZERO tds. Dallas needs to find a way to keep Dez involved in the game plan and make sure he gets the ball.
MVP through first 4 games:
[TIE] Romo (QB)/Murray (RB) - Both of these players have played extremely well thorugh the first 4 games. Romo doesn't have a bunch of passing yards, or a zillion TD passes but he has only turned the ball over 1 time through 4 games, which is excellent. Murray on the other hand has been equally as good and just as important to this offense so far. Through 4 games he has 403 rushing yards and 5 TD's, with an eye popping 6.5 YPC. (he's even missed 5 quarters of play). The reason for the CO-MVP is this team wouldn't be where they are without these two playing the way they're playing right now.
