When the running game is working, everything else just seems to fall into place making the good running teams hard to stop. Well, in week 16, Dallas showed how good of a running team it could be, running the ball 36 times for over 250yds and 2 TDS. D. Murray was the primary runner, with 223yds on the ground. With such success on the ground, Romo only had to drop back a handful of times, throwing 3 TDs though and sporting a 142.6 QB rating. But despite the solid offensive numbers, one cannot overlook what the defense did on this Sunday afternoon.
Yes, Eli had over 350yds passing and 2 TDs. However, he was picked off 3 times. 2 of those INTs were returned for TDs and a 3rd almost reached paydirt. Manning was harassed all day, sacked 4 times, fumbling twice and having one of those fumbles snatched mid air by D. Ware and almost returned for a TD as well. The Dallas front 7 notched 8 tackles for a loss, holding the Giants to just 27yds on the ground. With NY trailing from the start, Dallas played a solid bend but don't break Defense that only gave up 2 big plays all game, securing the win as the season draws to a close.
