Week 2 ended in heartbreaking fashion. It's a loss that sticks in your mind but, Dallas played well enough that the team did not feel it would be a loss that would linger for too long. Down 35-31 with less than 2:00 to go, the Cowboy offense drove to the 4yd line and faced 1st and goal with :03 to go. A bad pass from J. Echavaria resulted in an INT in the endzone and the season's first loss. But that game was lost on 2 fumbles, both in the redzone, that eliminated scoring opportunities. Dallas vowed not to let that happen again.

Enter week 3 and a showdown with Stafford & Johnson. The Cowboys protected the ball much better with the only turnover being an INT that was more a great play by MLB Billy Mireles than a bad throw. That turnover did lead to points for the Lions, however, making the end result a bit more interesting. But, the Cowboys' LBs would not be outdone. OLB B. Carter continues his Pro Bowl season, picking off Stafford twice, giving him 2 games with multiple INTs. OLB J. Durant got the other INT as he reached out and plucked a pass intended for WR C. Johnson. Rookie DE Arie Ramdawah contributed with a strip sack of Stafford that resulted in a fumble recovered by DT S. Meeske. The 4 turnovers proved difficult to overcome. But, the nail in the Lions' coffin was HB L. Dunbar, who continues his stellar play. Late in the 3rd qtr with Dallas holding on to a 28-17 lead, Dunbar broke free off tackle, getting great blocks from FB J. Carr and WR D. Bryant, giving him a clear lane to the endzone 45yds later and a 35-17 lead. It was his 2nd TD of the game and came at a time when it seemed the Lions were getting some momentum back.

This one ended in a 38-25 Cowboy win. Dallas now returns home to get ready for another NFC North team, the Chicago Bears. The Lions get to hang out at home for 2 weeks as their week 4 bye is followed by a home game vs the NY Giants.
