28 attempts. Normally that's a good indicator of the number of passes thrown by a Cowboys' QB in a game. But in week 2, in Washington, in a steady downpour, Dallas did the smart thing and kept the pounding the rock. The result was 192yds rushing and 2 TDs.
It's not that the passing game was ignored. Romo still attempted 22 passes. The issue here was more Romo's inability to connect with wide open receivers on a number of occasions. "We certainly think the weather, and a wet ball, had a lot to do with it. He's looked much sharper in practice this week", is all the coach would say on the issue. With rookie QB D. Harvin looking VERY good in practice, Romo doesn't have a lot of wiggle room and is considered to be on a short leash this season.
Dallas did have a tough time dealing with the Redskins' rush game but, once they pulled ahead and forced RGIII to drop back and throw, things became a little easier for them. The best play of the game came from OLB G. Francois late in the game. Reading the play he carried the TE down the seam and maintained perfect position to jump up and make the INT around the 2yd line, intercepting what would've been a momentum changing TD. Instead, Dallas got the ball back and maintained control of the game.
The Cowboys stay on the road in Week 3 as they travel to the Meadowlands to face the Giants.
The Redskins head to Green Bay.
    GG bro...
