With the Eagles losing their divisional battle with the Giants, the Cowboys had a chance to move into 1st place and took advantage of Philly's loss by beating the visiting Redskins, 45-20.

The Redskins moved the ball at will on their first drive of the game and scored on a 12yd run by RB A. Morris. But Dallas would answer with a TD drive of their own, capped off by a TD pass to TE T. Bryant, his first of 2 on the day. From that point it was all Dallas until early in the 3rd qtr as the Cowboys built a 28-7 lead. The Redskins would convert a J. Echavaria INT into points as RGIII would hit WR N. Paul for a 27yd pass to close the margin. But just as quickly Dallas rebounded with back-to-back TD passes to emerging WR T. Williams. A 4th qtr FG wold end the scoring for Dallas while the Redskins would add another 6 in the 4th.

The victory was costly for Dallas as they lost starting RB L. Dunbar to an injury. Dunbar will be out 6 weeks and will be replaced by 2nd yr RB L. Nicholson. The team must decide if they will place Dunbar on IR and sign a 3rd RB or hope he returns in good form for the playoffs.

The Redskins' OL was dominated the Dallas' DTs, who recorded 4 sacks, 4 TFL, 1 forced fumble, 1 recovered fumble and a few QB hurries. It was the deciding factor in this game as RGII never was able to settle down in the pocket.

Dallas will now travel to Philly for the 1st of their 2 matchups and try to defend their position atop the NFC East...
