Since the Big XII is now full, we can get started. The one requirement is we need three user teams in each division. Here would be my initial distribution of teams into divisions:

    DIVISION A

    Baylor
    Houston
    Kansas
    Texas
    Texas Christian
    Texas Tech

    DIVISION B

    Iowa State
    Kansas State
    Louisville
    Oklahoma
    Oklahoma State
    West Virginia

    Thoughts?

    Big XII (Teams)
    BakerWildcat7 - Kansas State
    LSUTRUTH - Oklahoma State
    IrishBearcat - Texas Christian
    iBleedOrange247 - Texas Tech
    UNo x Broncos - Texas
    BennettForce - Oklahoma
    Baylor
    West Virginia
    Louisville
    Kansas
    Iowa State
    Houston

That'd be fine having all Texas players in one division.

IrishBearcat , I think we should let Kansas & K-state be in the same division. Maybe have WVU or Louisville come into Div. A

You would then have unbalanced users, 4-2 in the divisions. Since its a custom conference, as long as it is balanced woth users and cpu talent I wouldn't stress over it. But just my 2 cents....

EDIT: Whoops you had it right, and makes sense.

Just a wild thought here, but what about setting up the protected rivalries to have a user vs user each, year. So we have no matter what 4 user conference games each year. Each of us kinda draw (or use a randomizer) for who our protected rival is each year before the season starts. This way everyone still has a state rival in division that is played every year, and also a user in the other division that gets played every year.

    DIVISION A
Baylor - Rival with Iowa State
    Houston - Rival with Kansas
    Louisville - Rival with WVU
    Texas
    Texas Christian
    Texas Tech

    DIVISION B

    Iowa State
    Kansas State
    Kansas
    Oklahoma
    Oklahoma State
    West Virginia

I would think it would make scheduling easier that way and maybe do the same for the ACC too.

We'll leave the ACC as it is, no need to mess with it.

I like that setup iBleedOrange247 - good call.

I think Oklahoma and Texas are a gimme on protected rivals, maybe leave them alone and do a random for the other 4 of us? IrishBearcat

If its personal rivals I hate Louisville but I understand that WVU and Louisville are more natural rivals in the real world

Can you elaborate on this more? I am a n00b when it comes to conference shuffling and protected rivalries on xbox. :)

Ok what you'd do is go in and set up in the custom conference for each teams protected rival to be somebody. Like those CPU teams you would put the other CPU teams to face them each year, hence protected rival. As for our user teams you would go in and set up say on Texas, Oklahoma to b their protected rival. And that will also set oklahomas protected rival to be Texas. As for the rest of us it would be the same just depends on who we draw.

What it all boils down to is the protected rivals are guaranteed to play each other each year no matter what. Kind of like Tennessee and Alabama, different divisions but they play each year.

Thank you for spelling this out.

You're the guru at this, so is your first post what you think would be the best for us? How would you set this up?

Just a thought maybe switch around the rivals around but it'd be something like that

Edit : Just got on my computer. But this is how I would do it if I were you.

Division A (maybe Southern Division for the name?)

    Texas (Protected Rival Oklahoma)
Texas Tech (PR K-state or Ok. State)
TCU (PR K-state or Ok. State)
Houston (PR with Iowa State or Kansas)
Baylor (PR with Iowa State or Kansas)
    Lousiville (PR with WVU)

    Division B (Maybe Northern Division)

    Oklahoma (PR with Texas)
Oklahoma State (PR with Tech or TCU)
Kansas State (PR with Tech or TCU)
Kansas (PR with Houston or Baylor)
Iowa State (PR with Houston or Baylor)
    WVU (PR with Louisville)

We just need to maybe have a discussion with all members of the Big XII to finalize who the protected rivals should be.
