I was wondering if anybody has looked at the default free agents in a league setting. Is there some kind of intelligence there? i.e. will they field multiple offers and decide the best place to go? Or are they just taking the first offer to them?

If you haven't looked there's some decent players in there - topped out at 88 with a good bunch in the 80s available.

So what you're saying then is that everyone in the TMFL should have their phone connected to the Twitter feed and we should keep our eyes peeled for any surprise cuts in case we have an opportunity to jump in there and grab them?

I may come up with a waiver system for them, haven't decided yet.

I definitely would prefer something like that.

somewhat related, in free agency in the first offseason, is there any preferences or is it highest bid wins everytime with regard to players picking where they land?

Last night I outbid the saints on Aquib Talib and landed him and he in no way fits my madden "scheme" but he fits my scheme perfectly. Btw Shaun Mason is there any way to use Defensive Assignments like in Madden 12? I go to the Coach Options menu and all it says is Defensive Audibles. I can't pick and choose where my CB lines against that WR. I ended up having Powers on Hester last night and terrence newman on the TE. Ummm any way to assign coverage?
