You would take Willis, Revis , and Ware over Ray in his prime?????
Coordinator - Dick LeBeau
DE - Reggie White
DT - Haloti Ngata
DE - Bruce Smith
OLB - Demarcus Ware
MLB - Patrick Willis
MLB - Ray Lewis
OLB - Clay Matthews
CB - Deion Sanders
FS - Ed Reed
SS - Ronnie Lott
CB - Dick Lane
As soon as I saw the title of this, I thought of Ray Lewis....him by far.
Personally, I may be a bit biased, but I think building around a strong LB like Ray, Urlacher is key. These guys are the field generals of the defense.
In a 3-4? I'm sure they could pull it off because they're great players and physical players, but weren't they 4-3 type DEs?
"Experts" always seem to put Dwight Freeney high on these sorts of lists for some reason. I would not build around him given all the other choices listed in this thread.
Good call on JPP Cade, because he hasn't even hit his football prime yet and is a beast. That guy is an AMAZING athlete. .
They were 4-3 type DE's who also played the occasional 4-3 DT, plus, you could roll Reggie down into the B gap with D. Ware rushing outside next to him and that gives Ngata the other A gap and Bruce can go outside C tech. I am pretty sure Reggie played at around 300 at times
im building my defense with dt known as derrick thomas
I don't doubt that they could play it well, but it wasn't their strength. That's not what made them HoF players. You're talking about having the top 2 sack leaders in NFL history play as run stoppers and to take on blockers. I would just go with someone more known for that.
Derrick Thomas was a beast..Loved him
Without a doubt.
What's it gonna take to get him in Seattle Pitt?
Can someone tell me why this guy isnt the ravens ?
This is a very very hard decision for me and after 10 mins of thinking it over i have to call it a dead tie
Champ Bailey and Ray Lewis..............Both guys are top 3 ever at there position and both have been leaders on the field.
1. Mike Singletary
4. Ray Ray
5. P. Willie
6. Deacon Jones
7. Ronni Lott
8 Howie Long
9 Too Tall Jones
10 Julius Peppers
Think he meant current players..........I could go all day all time
Two Bears and a Panther (all of his highlight reel shit is in Carolina by a long shot IMO)
Fuck. Got so excited that I just jumped in all willy-nilly I can't think D without Mike and LT. You get LT a $100 rock and bet he could still go a couplemofmseries.
