We won yesterday against Ohio State because the defense played lights out. They seemingly had the answer every time with consistent pressure, good coverage, and a few lucky drops by Ohio State as well mixed in.

On offense, we rode the legs of Matt Hall up and down the field and then Terrence Robbins punched it in three times. The first touchdown pass came in the first quarter when the Buckeyes played a little too aggressive and we threw a bomb over the top. Robbins just barely got the pass off, and speedy sophomore Jake Miller made a fantastic grab in the end zone for the 7-0 lead.

We continued to ride Hall and play keepaway from the Ohio State offense as Hall seemingly broke a tackle every time he touched the ball and did a lot of heavy lifting in the middle with 20 carries for 135 yards, with a long gainer of 22. Meanwhile, whenever Ohio State got a rusher into the backfield, Robbins would avoid and then make them pay with a scramble, including one of 30 yards.

In the second quarter Robbins hooked up with Cain on a 6-yard pass into the back corner of the end zone, a perfect throw and catch. For good measure, Robbins found TE John Davis open in the middle of a zone defense in the third quarter from 7 yards out to put the game out of reach, given the way our D was playing.
