Using NeuroticTruth as an example because these plays have been cleared as legal and well, I can't stop a river from flowing....

So... please help by naming the defense in each picture. I have no idea how to line my guys up in such aggressive, yet opportunistic positioning.

How do I get a FS lined up on the edge?

I thought nickel... but how do you get your safety 5 yards off the LOS unless it's not Nickel. The safety seems centralized and the lone safety on the play

Thats a safety blitz where the CPU manually brings him down into the box out of Nickel.

Taco Charlton is #32. I dont even have a FS named Cook so I dont know where you got that from.

That play is basic cover three but playing press (the outside corners dont actually press on the play as they're in deep zones).

I run the basic 4-3 defensive playbook. That play was Nickel.

Similar to third without press... I think?

Nickel what? How did you bring the other safety down while putting the other so high?

The 4-3 playbook has two different formations under nickel: normal and 3-3-5.

Glad to see the dugout aren't the only ones who have to deal with Douchemode.

3 down lineman. 7 in the box. Somehow I still managed to score to the RH slot receiver.

I know what it has. But I've never seen ANY play that lines up the safeties in the way they are

Its just basic shift using the secondary adjustments. I user Bolden the whole game and I dont manually move any other players.

3-2-6 - Cover 2 flat with show blitz.

Again, Nickel man coverage with the ROLB blitzing and the MLB hot routed to a yellow zone.

    3-2-6 - Cover 4

    Assuming this IS nickel man...

    upload_2013-9-26_20-5-14.png

How do you manage to continually situate your safety 5 yards off the line scrimmage on nearly every play (red circle). If this is man he's sitting high next to the other safety, no?

NeuroticTruth - This is not nickel man. Your defensive lineman Are lined up awkwardly (the RE is slide over from the 3 other lineman which I know you didn't do manually as you are always the LB). IN addition, your safety in blanketing the WR on the right while the other is in the box.

I played Ohio State last night and there was no way I could get to this formation from Nickel man. Am I missing something?

There are a million ways to score on this play, its 1 on 1 coverage...

3-2-6? Is that out of the Nickel? I'm not familiar, I run base 3-4

No its not out of Nickel, its a formation in the base 4-3 playbook. Maybe you should go look at it.

I don't spend a whole lot of time in game but you've had more success than anyone against me so I am curious to what you are doing. Outside of base 3-4 and press I don;t mess around with all the other stuff on defense.

EDIT - I realized after the fact what you meant 3-2-6. I was thinking that was a formation out of a base package, not the actual 3-2-6 formation on screen.

Playing last night against Ohio State when I called nickel cover three w/press, the safeties never lined up vertically staggered. Can someone else confirm this? I am trying to figure out what's going on since many of these defenses I am looking at I have never been able to line my guys up in, even when trying. NeuroticTruth is the only user I've had these issues against so I am trying to learn here what I am missing.

Maybe because his team is loaded? If you don't know what he is calling you can't stop him. That is the only way I have success vs him. If he starts breaking tackles though you have 0 chance at winning.
