Going forward, defensive playbooks must follow the below rules:
    • You may use any of the default playbooks, as usual (for now - if people start bitching about the below new rules, the multiple playbook may go the way of the dodo).
    • The 1-5-5 defense is no longer allowed.
    • Custom playbook rules - if you want to use a defensive custom playbook, you must limit your playbook to either a 3 down lineman or 4 down lineman concept. This means that you can have a playbook that would include the 4-3 and possibly the 4-2-5 OR you could mix the 3-4 and the 3-3-5 together. But you CANNOT mix the 4-3 with the 3-3-5 or the 4-3 with the 3-4 and 4-2-5, etc, etc.

correct me if I am wrong:

I assume the restriction does not apply to nickel and dime sets. or short yardage defenses like 5-2, 46, or 4-4

So I can run a 3-4 and put a 4-4 and 4-6 in my playbook for run situations but I cant run a 4-3 and put a 3-3-5 Okie set in for the spread teams?

The 4-3 already has a nickel 3-3-5 set, that works fine vs spread line-ups when needed.

This is the rule I'm going with for now - if it's a problem, I can just rule out defensive custom playbooks entirely.
