PANTHERS BEAT DA BEARS, ADVANCE TO NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
    Pepper Hicks, Reporting
The Panthers played in their first playoff game and they came away victorious. DeAngelo got things started for the Panthers busting a 40 yard TD run to jump his team out to a 7 - 0 lead. Then Devin Hester returned the kickoff 99 yards untouched to even up the score. As the 1st quarter came to an end John Kasay added 3 more to make the score 10 to 7. The 2nd quarter was all Defense, neither team did anything. Until.... With 30 seconds left in the game. It was 3rd down and the Panthers were already in FG range. DeAngelo went out into the flat but the Bears LB's reacted to Steve Smith running a drag, Matt Moore got the ball out to D.Williams quickly and he waltzed in to the endzone from 18 yards out. At the Half the Score was Panthers 17 Bears 7.
The 3rd Quarter was more of the same, DEFENSE. Except this time it was the Bears who would score, thanks to a 35 yard pass from Cutler to Greg Olsen at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Only up by 3 now, that Panthers knew they had to get points on this drive. Like he's done all season, DeAngelo Williams came to the rescue breaking loose for a 55 yard TD run. The Bears would answer back eventually thanks to Matt Forte's 2 yard TD run. The Panthers next drive stalled but they did force the Bears to use all their timeouts. With under a minute the Panthers had to stop the Bears from getting into FG or scoring a TD. With 40 seconds left thats when Chris Gamble picked off Jay Cutler for the 3rd time this game and ran it 26 yards to advance the Panthers to the NFC Championship game.
DeAngelo finished the game with 133 yards and 2 TD's on 21 carries, along with 3 receptions for 24 yards and 1 TD. Steve Smith caught 5 receptions for 86 yards and had a fumble lost. The Panthers Defense led by Chris Gambles 3 ints, had a total of 6 ints and 1 sack. The Panthers now will host the Defending OMFL BOWL Champion Eagles under coach Vishal, for a right to Play in OMFL BOWL IV.

Nice write up, Claven. I must say you do a heck of a job writing articles up. :)
