A Good Day to be in LA

A Good Day to be in LA
The LA Dodgers won their home Opener 5-1 against the Mets.

Dodgers starting pitcher Hiroki Kuroda threw a complete game allowing 1 run and 6 hits.

Los Angeles, LA - The Los Angeles Dodgers (1-0) were able to grab their first win of the season in the home opener against the Mets 5-1 in front of a packed house of 56,000 fans. Hiroki Kuroda proved to be one of the most illusive pitchers in the NL throwing a complete game and nearly holding the Mets to 0 runs.

"Kuroda threw well today. We knew he would give us a great shot to win. He is very accurate and has some sneaky stuff. If continues to throw this well he may get 8 wins this season, " commented GM Frisk after the game.

The Dodgers batting started in a lull but pushed across the first run of the ball game after Mets SP Brent Maine beaned catcher Russell Martin, followed by walking RF Andre Ethier on a 3-2 count. Left fielder Manny Ramirez delivered the very next at bat for his first hit of the season to push Martin across.

The Dodgers broke away in the 7th inning with 4 hits and 3 runs courtesy of a double by Blake Dewitt followed by a Russell Martin triple. Andre Ethier would then single up the middle to score Martin.

Dodgers Hot Bats Continue in 10-5 Win
The Dodgers clubbed the Chi Sox pitching for 10 runs off of 19 hits.

Catcher Russell Martin (Left) went 4 for 4 with 2 runs and 4 RBI's against the White Sox.

Chicago, IL - The Los Angeles Dodgers gained their 4th win of the season as the bats showed up against the Sox. Five hitters tallied multiple hits off of Chi Sox Ace Jake Peavy and company. Catcher Russell Martin was 4 for 4 with clutch hits, driving in 4 runs. First Baseman James Loney rebounded from his 3 game slump going 4 for 4 while scoring 4 runs and driving in 1. Garrett Anderson filled in for Manny Ramirez in left field and was 3 for 5 with 2 runs and 2 RBI's.

Starting pitcher, knuckleballer Charlie Haeger threw 7 innings allowing 8 hits and 4 runs while striking out the staff high 7 White Sox batters. Haeger was awarded the win, which is his first of the season.

The Los Angeles Dodgers (4-1) have gotten out to a hot start clubbing the ball well but if they do not keep this up their pitching will have to bear down on allowing so many runs.

Good game Moon, good luck in the AL!
