The Dolphins and Jets matched up this week in yet another huge game. Needing to keep pace with the hot Patriots and seeing the AFC wildcard acting in its usual competitive form a loss here would mean needing help down the stretch for sure. The previous game at the Jets was a heart breaker for Miami, they lost WR Mike Wallace late in the game for several weeks drove the field without him to take a late lead only to give up a KR for a TD with about a half minute left. This game they vowed revenge and got it.

The Jets would take the opening kick and march right down the field after Percy Harvin took a WR screen to the house making it 7-0. The Dolphins who need and have found balance since Wallace was injured really needed to stick to a game plan and getting down quick did not help. However lightning would strike and part 1 of the revenge as well as Marcus Thigpen would take a KR to the house for the second straight week and payback the Jets KR from the previous game and the stadium was alive. The Jets would try to counter and did start a nice drive but on a 3rd and short were stopped inches short on a run and were forced to punt. Miami would take advantage as Lamar Miller would really run well and the passing game would find some seems. However on 3rd and goal a back shoulder fade was dropped by WR Jonathon Baldwin setting up a short FG and a 10-7 lead.

The Jets would answer quick again as Percy Harvin would get free on a 3rd and short pass through the Miami zone and take it 60+ yards for a TD making it 14-10 NYJ. Miami would need to answer before the half and did. Lamar Miller seemed to be on a mission this day and would take the Dolphins down inside the 10 running in and outside shedding tacklers. On a huge 3rd and goal Ryan Tannehill would find Miller for a TD passing and the score was 17-14 Miami. The Jets would try to get points before the half but Dion Jordan would have none of it sacking Jets QB Reeder and then hitting him on a release another time resulting in the Jets punting. The Dolphins wanted to add anything they could before the half but were picked off down the sideline as Tannehill seemed to under throw Ryan Swope. However a key play in the game followed as Reeder was then picked by CB Davis setting up Miami would about 12 seconds to gain yards and try a FG. Gabe Rico would beat his man and get Miami into FG range and as the kick went through Miami grabbed the big MO again with a 20-14 lead at the break.

Miami took the second half kick and really seemed to wear down the visiting Jets converting several 3rd downs mixing in Marcus Lattimore with Lamar Miller and getting a break on a dropped INT. Miami showed some toughness as Miller carried several Jets into the end for a nice TD run and then went for 2 and ran that in making 28-14 late in the third.

The Dolphins D smelled blood in the water and starting really coming for the passer. Dion Jordan would record another sack and a several knock downs and on one would knock Reeder from the game. Miami would take the ball and play keep away adding a late FG making it 31-14. Reeder would come back into the game however on a roll out would get hit again by Dion Jordan and knocked out this time for the season. Brandon Weeden entered and lead a TD drive but on that drive there was a late hit on the side line knocking TE Carr out for several weeks. Miami would add another FG and hold off the Jets in the end 34-24 for a huge division and conference victory staying one game back of the Pats. GG TJ sorry about your guys going down injuries are buggy for sure and 1-2 dropped INTS went my way this time.

Lamar Miller 18-121 1 TD also 2 recs for 46 yards and a TD. Dion Jordan 2 sacks and several pressures. For the Jets Harvin shows 3 for 114 however that screen recorded as a rush so really he had closer to 150 and 2 TD's on the game.

sounds like a typical AFC East game. Going to be interesting to see how this all plays out not just in the division but the AFC playoff picture as well

GG DJDunn6, you definitely got the best of me today.

That last drive was a huge mistake, lost both Reeder and Carr for the season with the game out of reach. The late hit on Carr that you got flagged on is fine with me, it's the damn glitch that gets your QB injured every time he gets touched when throwing the ball away that I can't stomach. I can probably dig through my videos and find around 10 injuries to Reeder throwing the ball away. It's absurd.

You mean 10 injuries a game? Yes, pretty much…
