Miami, FL - The running back carousel continues in Miami as the Dolphins announced that halfback Willis McGahee suffered an abdominal injury during the third quarter of the Dolphins' week 14 win over the visiting Jaguars. McGahee was acquired by the Dolphins through free agency during week 3 of the 2014 campaign. He has battled injury throughout his career and will be sidelined once again for at least five weeks with his current team. The Dolphins, who are looking to make a late run at the playoffs, made an abrupt change to their lineup today as they announced the release of halfback Ryan Grant who was signed by the Dolphins via free agency at the same time as McGahee. The team has signed free agent Knowshon Moreno who will spell Daniel Thomas who filled in nicely for the injured McGahee taking six carries for 29 yards (4.8 avg) against the Jaguars. Thomas had caught the eye of the coaching staff during practice and has been given the starting nod following his week 14 performance. In other Dolphins news, receiver Brandon Mack has been cleared to return to the lineup for week 15 after missing 8 weeks due to fractured ribs.
