    Offensive Stats 2012-2019.png

A quick snippet of something I was working on a bit tonight. It came up talking to some guys that pitchers in the Dugout currently kinda suck, so I found it interesting that the current runs per game is actually about on par with where we started at in 2012. Also interesting, was the fact that the peak was probably 2015, which was the 2nd of the back to back Atlanta-Detroit World Series matchups and both teams were more known for their defensive and pitching skillsets than their offensive prowess. Is there anything else people would like to see? I think between myself, ryalaman , and ty5oke we could pull together most stats into a graph to see the leagues trends since we started.

Not once has the NL averaged more runs or hit more homers. Oh the difference you make Mr. Designated Hitter.

Do some regressions and find some correlations to which saber stats effect runs per game the most.

That's something you can answer really really easily without doing any regressions.

I want to see the work. Show me some Pearson's R, Spearman's Rank, and Kendall Tau rank correlation coefficients as well while you are at it.

Interesting stuff. Sorry I didnt comment on this earlier. We like to see the bell curve here and hopefully it continues. This year it feels it is continuing to grow at a pretty accelerated pace. I like the uniqueness of our league, but this can be adjusted with some settings changes to possibly add some realism. If that's what we want. We really, really need more data here though, and it's quite possible we are creating our own "era"

I say just let what happens, happen and let us create our own eras. Is there anything else specifically you want to see? I plan on throwing more together at some point.

The current results seem pretty sim to me. I would be in favor of keeping the current set of rules going.

I really want to eventually transition into something different, not with settings changes but just the league evolving and going through a "steroid era" or something of the sort. I think it would be really cool. Because in real life, who knows what league averages will be in 10 years. At this point in the Dugout I feel like pretty much anything stats wise is sim :)

I love Freeman's random year of 44, and then an average of like 25 the next 6 years. Hopefully Vignal can keep up his trend though.

^^ Acutally that is only batting VORP, so not the correct graph. I forgot to add the pitcher table.
