You no longer have "pitches" to sell to a recruit. You assign a point value each week to guys on your board and look for recruits that have a higher interest in your team strengths (shown via bonus points)
Do you have to unlock those interests or are they available from the get go? Apologize if this is in the idea, haven't had a chance to watch it yet.
The general idea is that you are aware of a recruit's interests and your team strengths from the start. Keep in mind that a few of your "pitches" are dynamic, and there are also deal breakers in place... you may have a deal breaker at the start where you cannot add a guy to your board at all... or one of your dynamic settings could change, provoking a guy not on your board to now be able to talk to you, or conversely have a guy currently on your board drop his interest.
Largely untouched.. Noticed the same errors in logic (ie cpu coaching contract expiring after a 12-1 season and the school hiring another coach prior to offering an extension, etc..)
There are no real contract objectives.. when you select a school, it gives you a contract length, but the goals are internally linked to your record and XP.. No more of the "Finish the season with 30+ TD passes" type goals in print for you to follow.
Do we pretty much now know everything about the game. Is there anything we should still be waiting on other than play a season and gameplay footage at e3?
I actually goofed a bit. The Off-season is two weeks long. One thing I think you may be missing in your scenario is that leads and directions a recruit is leaning are going to be more visible. Yes, there will be surprises, but ultimately you should have a better picture of what is happening and thus manage it accordingly. Putting caliber limitations in place is lame. My hopes is that through working with the dynasty dev team that we can eliminate the need for rules like this. The system should work realistically.
We, as Game Changers, know everything about the game. I hope that we have conveyed everything here that this community cares about. Obviously there is stuff we left out that you guys did a good job addressing with your questions.
I read an interview yesterday with the creator of the "gif," and he said it's actually pronounced "jiff". I'm just trying to atone for years of mispronunciation with a slew of "jiffs".
I'm just interested to hear more about skill trainer and other little things they haven't touched on.
That would be awesome.... If the CPU recruited well enough to not have "artificial" rules for users I would be thrilled! Until then.....
Oh okay, I think I know what you are talking about, but wasn't for sure if it made it into the game. Couldn't remember what they named it and it wasn't in any of the builds we played.
Is anyone else not THAT excited after this? Going back to a point system (like the '06 version) and coach skill tree? we waited til now for that? I mean can we see what the perks of the coach skill trees are? Is it actually meaningful or just a mini time killer? No full customizable schedules? (I know in redshirts we've wanted this for a couple years now) Do you still scout and get 100% accuracy on ratings? Utah still broken? No change to CC (didn't even fix logic?) or teambuilder? Maybe there are a lot of little nuances i'm not picking up on, but this doesn't seem like a big step forward. Hopefully there are big impacts with these smallish changes.
I do feel let down, don't get me wrong at all when I say that, I'm stoked about the new stuff, but really was hoping for more. Guess I got too excited. Still will be buying the game and getting it on the season ticket, but no super hype jump today
It's not a simple point system if you read the article. Coach skill trees encompass more than just recruiting and the perks are very effective. I'm waiting for the release/confirmation of the perks before I break those down fully. Not time killers at all. Can very much influence the way you compete in dynasty mode (again, if you read the article I explained several scenarios). The did some work on the scheduling logic. And I can't remember the result of the editable schedules. Will ask. The Redshirts isn't the only league that has been asking for this. We have been asking for it since NCAA 09. Utah should not still be broken... They are aware of that issue and I thought I remember them saying they found the nasty bug that was causing all of that. Coaching Carousel didn't need to change IMO. People need to take it for what it is. Not every coaching move proves logical. I know, there are some crazy things going on last year, and hopefully those are tuned down, but I think you will see much different results with the introduction of the coaching skill trees. Also, there won't be any more unrealistic expectations to get fired over. You won't have to win a Nat'l title with Oregon State in year 3...
It's my understanding that the 2 weeks consists of 1 recruiting week and signing day so it's still just 1 week to recruit and there are no shots at plan Bs. Hopefully that won't be an issue with it being clearer who you'll sign like you said (which of course would take the drama out of signing day that I think they're trying to build). I can't wait to buy the perk that allows me to have a bigger chance of flipping a recruit on signing day for my OD.
I thought it was a pretty good balance between the two. Hey, if recruiting was a sure thing they wouldn't pay coaches millions of dollars for being good at it.
