The Philadelphia Eagles took their season on the road down to Atlanta, GA for their second game of the season. Facing a red hot Matt Ryan would be no easy task. Coming off of a 4 TD, 1 INT game; Ryan showed he had not lost a step from the 2015 season. The Eagles knew they would have to protect the football and put up enough points to outscore the high flying Falcons if they wanted to come away with the W.

This game started out completely opposite of how QB Ryan Tannehill and the Eagles envisioned it. On their first play from scrimmage, and first of the ball game, Tannehill tried a play action pass which would be picked off by an Atlanta defender. From there the Falcons would go on to put up an easy 7 points. However the Eagles would answer very quickly. On the ensuing kickoff, and after seemingly being wrapped up around the 20 yard line, return man Desean Jackson made an amazing spin to the outside and outran some Falcon defenders who took some bad angles. Jackson would tie this game up 102 yards later at 7-7. On their very next possession, it would get no better for the Falcons. While dropping back to pass, Matt Ryan threw his first pick of the game and S Nate Allen would take it to the house to put his Eagles up 14-7. Ryan was pressured all day long and for the most part was held in check by the stingy Eagle defense. He was sacked 4 times on the day, 3 times by Trent Cole, and threw 3 INT's as well. A completely different story from his week 1 performance. The Falcons would never be able to catch up to the Eagles in this one as Philly would go on to win it 44-24. Not really any staggering numbers for the Eagles on offense. Tannehill went 6-12 for 249 yards, 2 TD's and 1 INT. While Lesean McCoy had another under-performing game as he carried the ball 15 times for only 57 yards and a score. The defense and special teams play of the Eagles definitely got this game ball.

    Next Up:

The 2-0 Philadelphia Eagles will make another trip to the deep south when they head to Jacksonville to take on the 0-2 Jaguars. The Falcons will make the trip up to Baltimore to take on the 1-1 Ravens. Should be some good games. The Eagles will try to stay atop the East and go to 3-0, while the Falcons will be in an early season fight to try and stay above .500.

    Player of the Game:

WR Desean Jackson - 3 catches, 85 yards, 1 TD, 1 kick return for 102 yards and 1 TD
